The Ellis house is an adorable vintage bungalow in Dayton, Oregon- an historic town in the heart of the Willamette Valley Wine County. Located on a quiet street and walking distance to Dayton's delightful downtown square. Conveniently situated between Newberg and McMinnville, it’s a quick drive to dozens of local attractions. This cozy 1912 bungalow is a one-of-a-kind charmer with two bedrooms, one bath and original features. Vaulted ceilings, Jack-n-Jill bathroom with tub/shower combo, original brass hardware, and fir flooring. Enjoy the vintage authenticity of our furnishings and appointments. Fiestaware dishes with  service for eight, coffee maker, and grandma's cast iron pans. Wine glasses a plenty! Queen sized and Double beds are appointed with 100% cotton sheets, down alternative hypoallergenic pillows and comforters. Sleeps four comfortably. We provide robes for use during your stay- so cuddly! The Ellis House was renovated in 2015 with a new roof, electrical, heating, air conditioning, and kitchen appliances. Keep in mind that this little house is over 100 years old and its "charm" includes original cabinets and counters, squeaky and slanting floors, doors that stick, and original wavy glass windows that no longer open. Small pet may be permitted with prior approval and payment of $100 per month. An access code will be provided to you the day of check-in. Please message us, and we'll give you a personal code to use during your stay. The entire upstairs is available for guest use. The basement can be used for bike storage and has a clothes washer and dryer. It is available upon request. If you chose to use the basement, you agree to use caution and the handrail when walking up and down the stairs- they are steep with a shallow run. We live nearby and are available by phone and email to answer your questions and provide recommendations. We love the Willamette Valley and its scenery, restaurants and wineries. Dayton is centrally located in the heart of Oregon's wine country. It's easily accessible, just 30 miles from Portland, and in between Newberg and McMinnville. A short drive to dozens of wineries and tasting rooms, restaurants, George Fox University, Linfield College, Providence Medical Center, and the Evergreen Museum and Airport. You’ll feel instantly at home sitting in the front porch of the Ellis House. We’re located on a quiet street and  just a few minutes walk to Dayton's delightful downtown square, shops, restaurants and the Suefert winery tasting room. Amazing dining experiences await! Walk to the Joel Palmer House, Mama’s Italian, or Block House Cafe. Travel by car is the best way to get around the Willamette Valley. There is ample street parking at the Ellis house for your car. We encourage responsible driving, so please consider a wine tour, Uber, or Lyft when the wine tasting shifts to wine drinking! Sometimes it's nice to stay in and cozy up at the fireplace, or take a nice hot bath. We have Netflix and Wifi, an assortment of board games, and a small collections of books and DVDs available for your use and enjoyment during your stay. Security Cameras are placed outside for security.
