Located on a 60+ acre farmette, this charming cabin gives you access to the biking, hiking, and art of Spring Green, Devil's Lake, and other unique communities or the option of remaining on the property to fish in the trout stream, hike the hills, snowmobile or cross-country ski on miles of adjoining trails, sit around the campfire, or simply relax on the porch watching wildlife and sunsets. The cabin has radiant floor heat, is air conditioned, has a small kitchenette (electric burners, microwave, no oven), private bathroom with shower, and wireless internet. A gas grill and fire pit are available. The farm has a barn from 1895, a main home built in 1923, many apple trees, hiking trails, a spring, and a significant hill with marvelous views of quaint Bear Valley. Local food, artisan cheesemakers, wineries, Amish farms, county and state parks, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesen, American Players Theater, and House on the Rock are all within a half hour of the property. Madison is less than an hour away. We are always thrilled to help with local food and area activities. Make this your private weekend cabin or a longer-term retreat. On a warm day, enjoy jumping in the spring-fed trout stream. On a clear night, you will see more stars than you remember being in the sky. Other things to note Per county rules we can only provide single-use toiletries and kitchen supplies. We aren’t fans of the a waste associated with these products so we ask you to bring your own products and supplies. There is dish soap and hand soap but beyond that please plan to bring what you’ll desire. We are inspected yearly for Sauk County lodging house status and a State Health License for a tourist rooming house. We pride ourselves in having worked to keep our property above standards for both.
