Our sweet cottage with its Mt. Adams view comes with a large yard perfect for children, dogs & bar-b-ques. Bordering a city park, it's located on a peaceful neighborhood street, with pool, tennis courts, bakery and restaurants just 2 blocks away! The cottage is set up for 2 people, but has a full-size futon on an enclosed sun porch that can accommodate 2 more for an extra $10/night fee (cold in winter). We are happy to host your dog for a $20 pet fee, payable via AIRBNB. The Mountain View Cottage is a cozy, light-filled cottage with a large, airy sun porch--perfect for enjoying the Mt Adams view with your morning coffee. Located in the heights of Hood River, the cottage is set up for two people, with a queen-sized bed in the main bedroom. There is also a full-sized futon bed on the sun porch, which can sleep two in warmer weather (mid-spring to late fall). (The porch is full enclosed and has heat, but is not insulated.) The cottage comes with a completely equipped kitchen, as well as a gas grill, picnic table and large, sunny yard with plenty of room for adults, children and dogs to play. The cottage has a T.V. and DVD player, for movies, Netflix (your own account is necessary), etc.--but it is NOT equipped with cable or regular television reception. A full basement offers storage for your toys and outdoors gear, as well as a washer and dryer for your use. We are happy to accommodate well-behaved dogs. We request a $20/pet fee, which we will request via AIRBNB once you've booked (please tell us). We also ask that you kept your pooches off the furniture, including the bed, and that you pick up after your pets to avoid extra cleaning fees. HR Lic#577 The cottage is within easy walking distance of the community pool, tennis courts, Jackson Park, a fabulous bakery and several great restaurants. Two large groceries stores are abut a mile away in either direction; a smaller organic grocer is just two blocks away. World-class wind sports, swimming, white water boating and mountain biking can all be accessed within ten minutes. Downtown Hood River with its art galleries, movie theaters and fine restaurants is a long walk or short drive away. In the winter, Mt Hood Meadows (downhill and cross country skiing) is just a 45 minute drive. Mt Adams (one hour+ away) offers great back-country skiing and snowshoeing. We live just across the river in White Salmon, and are available for your questions and needs. We respect the privacy of our guests and hope you will consider our cottage your home during your stay. Taylor Avenue is a quiet street that borders Hood River's Jackson Park, which has tree-shaded picnic tables, a playground for children and adjacent tennis courts and pool. Definitely plan to have breakfast at the nearby Pine Street bakery (Pine Street and Twelfth), then head on down the street for delicious organic food and deli items from the Farmstand Cafe. La Taqueria (3 blocks south on 13th Street) offers some of the best Mexican food, outdoor seating and margaritas in the Gorge! The cottage has a driveway that can easily accommodate two cars. On-street parking is also provided. The cottage is within easy walking or biking distance of almost anything you might need. In a pinch, Columbia Area Transit can provide dial-a-ride, door-to-door service through the Gorge. The Columbia Gorge is a fabulous place to live and to visit.
