Located less than 15 minutes from Crystal Mountain, Arcadia Bluffs, CS Mott Trail System, and Little River Casino, this century-old home in Bear Lake is just the place to call your landing spot. A family treasure of ours for generations will be your home away from home. It's decorated with photography, art, books and trinkets from over a century of Michigan heritage. During summer, swim off the private dock to enjoy the sandy-bottom, clear water of Bear Lake or head to a nearby town for a dip in Lake Michigan. Crystal Mountain, one of the best family resorts in the Midwest, is a short 12-minute ride northeast and offers golf, skiing, and a day spa. Heading northwest about 12 minutes will take you to beautiful hiking trails along Lake Michigan. Arcadia Bluff golf courses are a quick drive away as well. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day, the dock is in for swimming, sunbathing, and taking in the sunset. During the non-summer months, there is a landing with seating to view the lake and sunsets. The large backyard includes a firepit and plenty of space for yard games and your furry friends. The kitchen includes all major appliances and is stocked with anything your group may need: dining for 8+, pots, pans, storage containers, glassware, coffee pot, electric kettle, griddle, microwave, toaster, crock pot, popcorn maker and more. Grilling tools and roasting sticks are located in the laundry - just off the back deck for easy access to the grill and firepit. The grill is not available during the cold winter months as the grill won't light in low temps. The living room is stocked with books, board games, playing cards, and puzzles. Cable TV and WiFi are also provided. Even though there is air conditioning, there are fans for all rooms. The bathroom was remodeled in Spring 2020. Soaps, shampoo and first-aid and typical bathroom supplies are there for your use. Clean linens are provided including bath and kitchen towels as well as bedding. There are sometimes pets staying in this unit. As much as we try to keep all the hair and allergens away - it isn't always possible. Guests with dog sensitivities should be aware.​ Guest access All areas are for your use, except the garage, homeowner's small storage area off the laundry, and an abandoned storage under the garage in the back yard. Other things to note Guests bringing dogs are asked to advise the host of the dog breed. Guests bringing more than one dog must get permission in advance. (Cats are not allowed.) Guests with dog(s) should remove all "deposits" before they check out. A rake/shovel are located on the west side the house near the chimney for pickup use. DO NOT bag poop and put in the trash. Feces can be placed in the wooded area west of the backyard - we own that lot as well. There are vacuums in the laundry room on the first floor and one in the second floor closet between the adjoining the bed rooms on the west side of the house.
