Our Solitude on Smith Lake Welcome to Solitude! Great location in a cove on beautiful Smith Lake with low traffic. Perfect for swimming, fishing or sunning and floating by the water on the swim dock. Charcoal grill, fire pit and an outdoor shower to rinse off after a day in the lake. Year around water access. Amazing views from the porch of this simple cabin with plenty of rocking chairs for everyone to visit and watch the children swim below. The morning coffee view from this porch is an unbeatable way to start the day and late night stories under the stars will have you sleeping like a baby! This vintage spot offers an open floor plan with a spacious dining table to seat 8. Three queen bedrooms (2 include an additional twin bed if needed) and 1 1/2 bathrooms. Fully stocked kitchen. There is also a basement below to enjoy ping pong and has a washer and dryer available for use. Plenty of parking available. No WIFI but there is tv access for movies available. Adequate AT&T service available. Boat launching nearby at Smith Lake dam and Duskin Point Marina. Convenience store and Dollar General 15 minutes away. There is a t.v. in the den and an electric fireplace. Warm extra heat in the winter and adds nice ambiance. The lake is a 20 foot walk down the hill in the front yard by way of a paved sidewalk. There is a front porch over looking the lake with two ceiling fans and six rocking chairs. A charcoal grill is located on the downstairs porch. There is also a floating dock/swim platform. There is an outside enclosed shower. The entire upstairs of the cabin. The basement beds are for family only. No more than 8 guests at a time. I'm available by phone all the time. And near by. And I have a caretaker down the road. This is a quaint cabin on Smith Lake. There are neighbors on both sides of us and along the road and they are mostly weekenders. We're in a cove off the main channel and on weekdays the traffic on the lake is minimal. The nearest convenience store is ten minutes away. There is no phone in the cabin and cell service is poor unless you have AT&T or Verizon. TV service is fair. Major networks available. There is a DVD player. Our little cabin is not the typical grand home you see most days on the Lake but very comfortable. No one under the age of 30 can book the house. . Some exceptions might be considered. This is a remote lake side cabin. Parking is good on the back side of the cabin for three or four vehicles. The nearest boat launch is Smith Lake dam. Duskin Point is another option. There is a convenience store 10 minutes away and a Dollar General 15 minutes away. The partially finished basement has a rustic half bath and the washer and dryer is located there. The basement is accessible only from the outside. It’s a little rustic but very cool and comfortable in the summer. It is totally heated and cooled. There is a second refrigerator/freezer, too, however we might leave some of our own perishables in the frig. There is a ping pong table. And dart board. The floors are concrete. There are tools and yard equipment stored here but out of the way. Nice sitting area and fire pit just outside the door to the basement. The basement is not to be used for sleeping. This is my family’s beloved lake cottage of over 40 years. NO GROUP OVER 8 ALLOWED. No parties. No loud music.
