Farm stay in South Kortright

Nestled in the peaceful quiet of the Western Catskills, La Basse Cour is a small family farm practicing natural methods in balance with nature. Stay with us in our beautiful 1850's Greek Revival farmhouse, enjoy our farm and farm animals, and savor breakfasts made with our fresh eggs and local ingredients. Our Upstairs Suite has two double beds and a roll away twin, a private bath, and opens into a guest parlor. The space La Basse Cour is a small family farm with two suites available as bed&breakfast in our 1850's Greek Revival farmhouse. A full farm fresh breakfast made with our eggs and local and seasonal ingredients is prepared for you at a time of your convenience. Upstairs is our attic bedroom suite which has 2 double beds and a roll away twin, perfect for a small family, or two couples who would like to share space and cost. Private full bath is in the room. We also have a two bedroom suite on the main floor, each room has a double bed, the rooms are connected to each other through an interior door and have a private full bath. This is a listed separately on Airbnb as First Floor Suite at La Basse Cour so please take a look if you are interested. All rooms share our parlor which has an 1895 Round Oak cast iron parlor stove and a lovely antique Victorian sleep sofa that can be converted into an extra bed if needed. La Basse Cour is in the midst of the Catskill watershed where a renaissance in agriculture is taking place, offering amazing fresh food and glorious vistas all around us. Guest access Guests can enjoy our entire farm, meet our farm animals, and walk the woods and fields. Our kitchen, dining room and parlor are available for use by our guests, as are our lovely porches and patios. Our farm store featuring our eggs and vegetables and local farm and artisan products, and our textile studio Kortright Handworks, are located in our carriage house. During your stay We live in our farm house and we work our farm so you can have plenty of interaction with us if you like, or not! You can tour our farm, visit with our goats and sheep and ducks and chickens and geese and cows and horses, help with chores, gather your eggs for breakfast, and learn a bit about a small family farm in balance with nature. You can visit our farm store and our textile studio Kortright Handworks located in our carriage house. This of course will require interaction with us! Other things to note NYS requires us to collect and pay 8% sales tax on your stay with us. This is over and above our listed room rate and collected upon check out. Delaware County has arranged for Airbnb to collect its required 2% occupancy tax directly. Our dogs live with us in our farm house and we have barn cats in the barn as well as a variety of farm animals so please be aware of this if you have allergies. Let us know of any food sensitivities or preferences and we will gladly accommodate your request. Upon request we will gladly prepare a farm to table dinner or lunch, for an extra charge.
