"The Fox Den": a whole house for two people, with a yard, a large deck with gazebo that feels like a treehouse above a mountain stream, 3 bedrooms. Its an older home with all wood interior, fast wi-fi, kitchen, full bath, outdoor shower, 2 person maximum, but there are 3 bedrooms, 2 swings, fire pit, and Japanese garden. Nestled in a valley with great hiking, located downhill from Deep Gap on the beautiful Black Mountain Ridge Crest Trail. The space This is a real getaway place. Great for relaxing and being with the ones you love. Its a nice big home for 2 persons maximum. Years ago, this was the "love nest" of a writer couple from Asheville, and now it's yours. Burnsville and stores are 11 miles away with restaurants, crafts, gifts groceries, hiking trails and rivers. Lounge and dine on the deck in the gazebo, enjoy the bedrooms, and listen to the mountain stream down below. It's 45 miles from Asheville with its tourist attractions when you want a city. Serious hike is 6 hours to Mount Mitchell (leave a car there), or 2 hours up to Deep Gap, or just take a casual 10 to 20 minute stroll up a gravel road to a park or a bridge along the beautiful creek with little waterfalls all the way. Fox Den is on a paved road, county maintained for easy access. Normal cars- no problem. Take a deep breath. Restore. Refresh. Relax. Guest access You have the entire place all to yourselves! A whole home for a Maximum of 2 people total, with kitchen, full bath, 3 bedrooms, deck with gazebo, stone patio, plus 2 swings under the house, indoor and outdoor showers, and Japanese style meditation garden. Privacy and nature are planned in. Around an hour +/- driving distance: Burnsville, Asheville, Mount Mitchell, the Blue Ridge Parkway, groceries, theater, restaurants, live music, arts and craft studios and stores. Hiking: Right from the cottage 10-20 minutes along the creek, with small waterfalls to park or bridge, or 2 hours up to Deep Gap, and the Black Mountain Ridgecrest hiking trail, or 6 hour hike to Mount Mitchell. Other things to note This is a fun, relaxing mountain cottage. The interior is mostly beautiful wood floors and walls. It is a cozy place with living/dining room, 2 bedrooms, three dining areas outside, two swings, and the ample deck. You have your own kitchen, full bathroom, bedrooms, living room, fast wi-fi, TV, deck, gazebo, hot/cold outdoor shower (in season) and under the cottage are two swings for your private use. The well water here is different from city water. It is rich in minerals and has a high iron content. It is clean and drinkable, but most prefer bottled water. We provide a jug of drinking water. Welcome to the mountains! **Sorry, Pets are currently Not Allowed due to some bad experiences recently. Sneaking in a pet results in a $100 fine. Sorry to have to do this. You will be in the area of one of the country's premier artist studio tours. On special weekends, the tons of amazing artists up here open their studios to the public.
