Welcome to your GEM by the Lake! This inviting space has everything you will need for a quiet get away. The backyard borders a scenic waterfront park and is a 3 minute stroll to the lake, marina, swimming area , playground and walking trails. Perfectly situated to provide a peaceful base to explore downtown Ithaca, campus ( 15 mins) and all the Finger Lakes have to offer. A new platform sofa bed provides a comfortable 2nd sleeping area. Please message for information re kayak rentals and marina The space The space is a one bedroom unit with a queen bedroom and a new platform sofa bed fitted with comfortable bedding.( located in the living room). The unit features a well equipped kitchen and comfortable living space. A laundry room is located just outside the the unit, in a common area, for guest use. The outdoor space includes a dining area with a bbq and a fire pit sitting area including supplied firewood to enjoy evening campfires. Guest access Guests will enjoy their own outdoor dining area , bbq and fire pit seating area. A laundry room , located in common space is available for guests convenience. The unit is an attached ranch addition to a charming 1890 two story main house with its own private front and rear entrances and does not share a roof with the main house. Plenty of parking is available for guests. Other things to note The apartment is all on one level with the exception of the bathroom. There is a small set of three steps up to the bathroom as shown in the listing photos. A grocery store is located within a 10 minute drive. Public tennis courts are available for use ( approximately .5 mile away) . There is a fishing creek (Salmon Creek) and public access to the lake through the park or the salt point trails which wind along the shore of Cayuga lake all located within a short walk. A full service Marina is located a few hundred yards from the property. Salt Point Brewing company is a 4 minute drive and there are several wineries on the East side of the lake please message if you are interested in recommendations for local restaurants or services . The Ithaca Mall is approximately a 10 minute drive. If you prefer a beautiful drive through the country side, I would recommend heading to the quaint town of Aurora to have dinner at Fargo’s or the Aurora Inn. Cornell ( 15 mins) , Ithaca College ( 20 mins) as well as SUNY Cortland ( 22 -25 mins) are all easily accessible) .
