Stay in 2nd largest home in Kanab! About an hour from scenic parks. "Garden Room" is pink, red, etc with flowers and its own, private bathroom en suite. Most common compliments are that guests felt warmly welcomed into our clean and spacious home and that they enjoyed the community feel of interacting with other guests. This makes us happy! Most common complaint: "I wish I had booked for more days!" The best of both worlds: When you visit us, you stay in the 2nd largest home in Kanab. We are on 3 acres with nothing but open country and spacious views behind, yet only 5 minutes drive from the middle of town. We call it the "Burro Flats High Desert Lodge." There is an ATTACHED PRIVATE BATHROOM in the room. The door to your bathroom is inside your room. No one else will have access to your bathroom. We provide GREAT, fast wifi connection throughout the house. Cell phone service is also reliably good (except Sprint users often have trouble). Kanab is such a popular travel destination because it's centrally located to all local, scenic areas including: Zion - 1 hour drive Bryce - 1 hour 20 minutes drive Grand Canyon (North Rim) opens May 15, 2026 - 1 hour 20 minutes drive Lake Powell / Page / Horseshoe Bend - 1 hour 15 minutes drive Best Friends Animal Society - 20 minutes drive The “Garden Room" shown here is next to and shares a wall with our "Frontier Room." The door to this room also leads to the common hallway. Which means that incidental noises may be audible even when everyone observes the 10pm at night quiet time house rule. If you need to be in absolute silence or if it is bothersome to have to be very quiet after 10, then you might be more comfortable in another household. Crickets (Celeste) chose the decor for this one (pink, flowers, garden...)! The room contains a queen sized bed (with memory foam topper!) that can easily sleep 2 people. It also has a small, SHORT, individual sized futon sofa sleeper that is 67 inches (170 cm or 5 feet, 7 inches) long (in other words, if you are much taller than 5 feet tall, then you'd have to bend your knees and couldn't stretch out fully). The futon is very well made and stable and would be great for ONE small person (or a taller person who doesn't mind curling up to sleep). Please let us know in advance whether you plan to use the futon and we will gladly make it into a mini bed for you with extra padding, fresh, cotton sheets, comforter and fluffy pillows. We love to prepare for visitors! :) Note: We are constantly improving, so exact decor and furniture arrangement is subject to change and may differ somewhat from the photos. *Why do we charge an additional persons fee of $8 after the first guest? This fee helps us cover the costs of more toiletries, snacks and food, paper products, etc. being used. It also considers extra hot water for bathing, additional laundry such as towels and such. Guest access Take advantage of the large, furnished common areas including fully outfitted kitchen (we provide some essentials such as cooking oil, spices, coffee and some condiments and you'll want to bring your own groceries other than a few breakfast basics), living room with pool table and covered, outdoor balcony with patio table and chairs, electrical outlets, and sunset views. Garden Room guests have their own bathroom with privacy door, right in the room (en suite bathroom). There is a shower (no tub), toilet and sink. For convenience, there is an additional half bath (toilet and sink) downstairs on the main floor. Each guest has privacy while they are taking their turn in this bathroom. Our home has been described as either a Bed & Breakfast with a very minimal, DIY breakfast (we provide a few basics and you prepare it yourself), or like a super nice hostel where guests sleep in their own rooms. :) During your stay We live in the lower level of the three level house, with private kitchen, bathroom and living quarters. So guests will mostly only see us at check in, check out, if they have any questions, or occasionally in the common areas of the house. We're here if you need us; otherwise, we'll maintain a respectful distance. We welcome friendly, responsible guests of all ages, language, culture, heritage and lifestyle. You will most likely be interacting with other guests in our home during your stay; this is a welcoming, social and friendly environment. Other things to note Only 5 minutes drive to Kanab city center with delicious restaurants, fully stocked grocery stores and friendly office of tourism. There is free parking everywhere in town and also on our property. It is very different here from city life! :)
