Built in the 1970's as a remote fishing cabin, this adorable little hideout has been reimagined to be the idyllic escape in the woods. This cabin is perched on a granite ledge overlooking the legendary Canyon Creek, which can be seen from nearly every one of the expansive windows. After spending a day exploring one of the nearby epic hiking trails, you'll be rewarded by a relaxing soak in the riverside hot tub or a board game with friends by the fire. The main cabin is has one loft bedroom with a sofa bed on the main floor. For additional sleeping we have added another detached "bedroom" in the nearby Writers Shed. The Writers Shed is a small room overlooking the river, accessible via the back deck. Please be sure that your reservation accurately reflects all guests staying at the cabin so we can have enough bedding and towels for everyone. Forest and Andy live in Seattle, and most likely won't be on site during your stay, but are available via messaging on Airbnb. Our neighbor, Stephanie, does our cleaning and can also be available to help you should you need anything. The major draw to this area is the plethora of enchanting hikes along Mountain Loop Hwy. These hikes can range from a simple 1-2 hour day hike to Big Four Ice Caves, or an all day (or even overnight) trip up to Gothic Basin. No matter your skill level or desired outcome, there is something for everyone on Mountain Loop Hwy. As for dining, there are a few decent food options in Granite Falls, but we highly recommend getting groceries in advance and cooking a meal at the cabin. Our cabins are in a private community of other cabins and homes, mostly occupied by the owners. While you are welcome to explore the river and the nearby park, please refrain from wandering the private roads of the community, as the neighbors like their privacy. Instead, we recommend driving a few minutes up Mountain Loop Hwy and exploring the numerous incredible public trails available there, as previously mentioned. The cabin is on a gravel road, which has a few potholes but can be driven in any average car. We don't get much snow up there, but if it does happen to snow you should still be able to access the cabin. Frequently Asked Questions: Do you allow dogs? — YES! We are dog friendly, but do not allow cats or any other pets. Can I check in early or check out late? — Since our cabins are usually booked back-to-back, and our cleaners need time to prepare the cabin for the next guest, unfortunately we can not accommodate early check in or late check out. Occasionally our cleaner gets the cabin ready an hour or so early, and if that happens we will let you know day of. Please do NOT arrive early with plans to “hang out” until our cleaner is finished. It only prolongs the cleaning and frustrates our cleaners. Do you have a coffee maker and do you supply coffee? — We do have a pour over and French press at the cabin, as well as a bean grinder. We try to supply coffee beans, but recommend do bring your own, as it’s very hard to keep stocked and many guests have preferred coffee bean types. Do you have a BBQ grill? — Yes, we have a propane BBQ on the back deck. We supply the propane and utensils.
