Northwoods Basement Retreat on the Mississippi
Northwoods Basement Retreat on the Mississippi
Description
Our home is on the banks of the Mississippi in the lovely northwoods of Minnesota, about a 15 minute drive from downtown Bemidji. You will have the entire basement to yourself during your stay. There is a bedroom, bathroom, main area with a single bed nook, and a living area with a table and kitchenette. You will likely hear noise from children playing upstairs during the day, but things should be pretty quiet at night. We can't wait to host you as you explore all Bemidji has to offer. The space We have a large house and yard on the Mississippi. You are welcome to use our canoes, bikes, or hammocks- just shoot us a message for details. You will be staying in our basement. You do have to go through our laundry room to get there but once downstairs you have a large area with a bedroom, bathroom, ping-pong room, playroom and den (with a little kitchenette in it) just for you to enjoy. Guest access You will follow the path around the side of attached garage to the back door that is for your use. After entering the code we'll send you, you go in through the laundry room (which you are welcome to use), past a set of blue doors that leads to our side of the house, and around another corner to the basement steps. The main area of the basement, bedroom, den, bathroom and playroom are for your use. The other rooms are our storage. I will try to leave your rooms with the doors open, but I do have a toddler who likes to re-close doors while I clean. During your stay We have three young kids and a friendly Golden retriever who will be excited to greet you if they happen to be outside when you come. We enjoy getting to know people, but will also respect your privacy. The outdoors, living room, and hall that leads to the basement stairs are shared spaces, so you might run across us there. I will not come down into the basement while you are there unless we have already discussed it or it is an emergency, and I will always knock. There is a possibility that my three year old might not realize you are staying and go down to play in the playroom, but I will do my very best to prevent that. We will usually keep the blue doors that lead into the kitchen shut (again, to discourage little ones from going into your space.) If we are home and you would like to visit or have a question, please knock! We would love to meet you.
