Cabin in Murphy

Paradise River Retreat is literally feet away from the beautiful Hiwassee River. Fishing, kayaking, tubing, or just sitting by the fire awaits you. This unique cabin sits on 1.5 wooded acres, sleeps 6, includes two decks with outdoor sitting and cooking area, fire pit, and direct access to the river. Just 3 minutes away from John C. Campbell Folk School and less than 5 miles to downtown Murphy where you will find local shops, dining, and the small town atmosphere that will have you wanting more. The space Located literally feet from the Hiwassee River in picturesque Murphy, NC, this cabin is perfect for your family, your fishing getaway, a guys weekend, a girls get together, and even two families vacationing together! Bring your pooches down also, as there is plenty of wooded land just for them. Paradise River Retreat boasts 3 queen size beds (sleeps 6), but can sleep 2 additional singles on the couches, if necessary. There are 2 full size bathrooms, and an upstairs and downstairs living space for lounging separately, if desired. Each living space has its own flat screen with WIFI... perfect for watching Netflix but with the river calling, you may not even turn them on. One full bath has a tub, the other a stand up shower. An office is in house if you have to keep up with your emails, but we hope you can leave that behind for some good R & R. We have a fully stocked kitchen for your convenience with coffee to start you off, but feel free to stock it with your own preferences. A propane grill outside on the porch (riverside) makes it fun to make a big family meal outdoors and eat on the large picnic table in the yard next to the fire pit. There is also a picnic table on the upstairs screened-in porch, perfect for a quick snack or a perfect dinner overlooking this amazing river. Shopping for groceries is a mere 5 miles away, all conveniences you need are in Murphy: casual dining (burgers, fries, sandwiches, BBQ and wings), fast food (McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Wendys, Waffle King and more), gas stations, Walgreen’s, Lowe’s, Wal-Mart, Ingles (grocery store that boasts a Starbucks), and even sit-down dining that ranges from casual to higher-end. There are great shops in downtown Murphy and even a movie theater with 2 current movies at a time. There are many things to do in the Murphy area!! To start at your own cabin, there is fishing directly off your porch, if you want to try that! Fly fishermen (and women) will be called to wade out into our beautiful river to try their hand at catching some trout. Kayaks can be launched right outside your door for an exciting ride down the river. Tubes are also something to try. About a 30 minute drive through a gorgeous gorge is the Nantahala Outdoor Center where there are guided rafting tours, ropes courses and dining. You are also a 5 minute drive from the John C. Campbell folk school, where classes are offered and Friday nights present live music. Murphy also has a gaming option if you want to try your hand at blackjack, slots, roulette, craps or more! Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino was built in 2015, and is a great time for a night out. There are so many other things in this rich area of the Smoky Mountains.
