Big bright house by the beach, ideal for families!

Large common spaces and lots of natural light make this a very welcoming place. Available weekly through the summer, all weekly rentals begin and end on Saturdays. Longer term rentals available from Sept 1 - June 30. The space "My place" is a bright, clean, comfortable year round home, that can be your destination, or your base as you discover all that Bruce County has to offer. This two-story house is nestled amoung mature trees on a quiet dead end street of only 5 houses. Its simple decor and large windows fill the house with natural light, and cool breezes that aim to allow you to relax in a quiet stress free setting, while still being close to lots to do. While technically in the town of Southampton, the house is located among cottages that have been drawing people to the shores of Lake Huron for over 100 years. And without curbs or sidewalks, it is more of a lane than a street, and you get a real sense you are out of town. The house has three bedrooms, two with queen sized beds, and a third very large bedroom, the "dorm room" with 4 beds. There is a futon couch in the office/games room, that can also be used as a bedroom. Southampton is quiet, relaxed and very family oriented, for both young families and older famlies. Outgoing young adults will find a more active social scene a 5 minute drive down the road in Port Elgin, or 20 minutes north at Sauble Beach. From 431 Balsam a six minute walk takes you to one of the best sand beaches on Lake Huron. Three minutes walk in the oposite direction takes you to the head of the Woodland trail and five minutes further on and you are at the Southampton Tennis club. An 8 minute bike ride along the rail trail or 4 minutes by car and you are in downtown Southampton, with its 1950's look and feel providing boutique shopping and food & drink for when you want to get out and about.
