Description

This is the Alaska of your dreams - bush planes, jet boats, unparalleled views, adventures, fishing, wildlife viewing and more. While in the heart of Lake Clark, Wilderness Pro is located away from the sounds and plane activity of Port Alsworth. After arriving by complimentary boat transport, you can truly experience the Alaskan bush. Sit on the front porch, sip coffee and enjoy the mountains or set out into the wilderness. Read on for more details regarding meals and excursion opportunities. The space Our lodge is a haven of serenity, in the remote beautiful wilderness of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. The entire property is off grid, with solar and generator power. Starting in 2007, our family began clearing the land by hand and building the lodge. Together, we created a slice of paradise for my wife and I to live and our 7 children and their families to be comfortable when visiting the remote wilderness of Alaska... now we offer several different listings for rent. This listing is for a Private room, that sleeps two. It features a full size bed and a bath with step in shower. The private room has a direct view of the lake. Meals are NOT included in the cost of your lodging - please note we offer family style breakfast and dinner and a sack lunch. Please message us to coordinate dietary needs and allergies. Various excursions are also available to book. Message us to inquire further. At the end of your adventure-filled days, end the evening around the campfire or wander down to our wood-fired sauna or hot tub, and watch the midnight sun set. (Just be sure to tell us if you want to use these amenities, as they can take 2-3hrs to warm up). This is a unique, healthy experience, with the best views imaginable, in the remote bush of Alaska. Please see additional listings for another private bedroom, a 2 bdrm/1 bath self-contained cabin, which can each sleep up to 4 guests or a dry cabin which can each sleep up to 2 guests. Guest access Lake Clark is completely off the road system, located about 150 air miles southwest of Anchorage and accessible only by plane. You will need to fly into Port Alsworth by wheel plane or float plane. You can book travel with either Lake Clark Air or Lake & Pen Air. After flying into the little town of Port Alsworth, we will be there to pick you up by boat and you'll leave the busy plane activity behind as you travel across the lake to our lodge, located in the much quieter, remote Dice Bay. Our lodge is a haven of serenity, in the remote beautiful wilderness of Lake Clark National Park, Alaska. Have access to a small plane? You are welcome to land directly in our bay with a float plane or wheel plane at a runway a mile up from the lodge and we'll meet you up top by four-wheeler. THE FLIGHT OUT Have your camera ready - when the skies are clear, the flight out here is an "IMAX Theatre Trip". You will fly through mountain passes, between towering mountains, above glaciers, rivers and waterfalls and even past two volcanoes, Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Iliamna. If you're lucky, you'll even see some wildlife along the way - beluga whales, black bears, grizzly, moose - keep your eyes open! Using the two main flight services, this flight is around an hour each way. FROM THE LODGE Right from the lodge, you will have access to take walks through grizzly territory, venture out in to the bay via kayaks, paddle boards or a paddle boat or paddle around the point to the main lake and explore the rock cliffs. EXCURSIONS Want to explore more of Lake Clark? We offer hiking and world class fishing excursions. Hiking is a mere boat ride away or you can rent kayaks and get out to explore the rocky cliffs and islands on your own. We can provide guided excursions for fishing, hiking and waterfall exploring. Please message us for more details. Whatever you have dreamed up about the remote wilderness of Alaska, you are likely to find it here, in the bush. Other things to note WIFI: We have the best wifi available in this area of Alaska - however, the rural setting brings limited bandwidth. As such, we ask that our guests limit streaming and uploading. Mobile phone service is only available with GCI as a carrier. If you need assistance to make a call, we have a shared line that can be utilized, as needed. AMENITIES: In addition to our hot tub, sauna and firepit, there are kayaks, paddle boards and a paddle boat available for day use to venture out and explore. You can also hike the beach or rent a four-wheeler to explore the trails around the lodge. For those who want to venture further, we also have a 17' flat bottom skiff and inflatable kayaks for rent to float the Tanalian river. HOSTS: My Wife and I live on the main level of the lodge. We love our little slice of paradise and are available for recommendations before or during your trip. With that said, you will have as much peace and quiet as you desire, other than the occasional footsteps or light voices. MEALS: If you would like to include two family style meals (breakfast and dinner) and a sack lunch, plans must be arranged a week in advance of your stay. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let us know at least two weeks in advance, so we can fly in the right ingredients for you! The nearest grocery store is in Anchorage, so make sure to plan ahead accordingly.
