This is a quiet, private 3 story log home which sits on a private 50 acres that is 5 minutes outside the heart of Machias. Perfect for those looking for a quiet wilderness experience with all the amenities of a fully functional home! Home offers 2 bedrooms with queen sized beds, 2 bathrooms, and a full finished basement with 2 twin size beds and a queen bed. Disconnect and get back to nature with access to amazing hiking areas and ocean views within a few minutes drive! Upon entering you will have that warm cozy cottage feeling given off from the knotty pine throughout the house. Along with the peace and quite with mother nature as one of the only sounds. You will find the granite kitchen to your left fully loaded with kitchenware (Dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, stove, and more.) The living room is well lit with natural light coming from the large windows in the cathedral ceiling. After watching the sunset over the river you can start the wood fireplace located in the living room for a little extra warmth and relaxation on those chillier nights. Going up the stairs into the loft you will find the master bedroom. This loft is looking over the livingroom and is directly across from the large cathedral windows, giving a relaxing view of the wilderness and water each morning and afternoon. The master bedroom has its own private full bathroom with walk-in closest. Going down the stairs from the main floor is the completely finished basement with two twin sized sleeping areas and one queen bed. There are two full size sliding glass doors that give access to a second large private deck overlooking the same water and wilderness. In the utility room there is a washer and dryer along with two spring and padded cots available for extra guests. Guests will have access to the entire space. This is a quiet, small, downeast community with lots of sightseeing, hiking opportunities, and ocean access within a short drive. Fireplace Usage: We ask that only guests that have experience with proper fire-starting and woodstoves, make use of the fireplace located in the Living room . Because this is a real fireplace it will require some basic knowledge of fire-starting and fire safety. Note: This is a home we actively visit between guests. So you will find family pictures throughout the house among other trinkets.
