Lake Getaway - Restored Vintage Tiny Home on Farm

Welcome to our 1951 vintage Richardson Camper, “The Don Draper”. We are a 60 acre farm on Lake Hartwell with four rentals, The Cottage, The Cabin, The Loft and The Don Draper at Spotted Fawn Farm. We’re an agritourism rescue farm with lots of woods trails, dock on the lake, large outdoor kitchen, garden and acres to roam. Shoppers and diners will love our beautiful little town of Hartwell, just 6 miles away. We encourage guest to join in the evening feeding of all the animals. The space Each of our houses on our 60 acre agritourism farm are unique and private, with access to the dock, riding trails, use of our outdoor kitchen area and each has it’s own firepit and outdoor area. “The Don” sits nestled in shady pines but overlooks our big pasture. The spacious porch has a steamy hot shower plus an antique clawfoot tub for a long soak to unwind and have a glass of wine. It’s an easy walk to the lake or woods trails. The Don completely redone with comfort in mind. Guests are welcome to wander anywhere on the farm (except entering pastures containing animals) and visit with our wild assortment of rescue animals. Visitors are welcome to bring their horses or boats, but please give us a heads up so we know we have space during your stay. Everyone is encouraged to bring leftovers to feed the animals. 2 dogs, under 35 lbs, are welcome but must be on a leash at all times. Chickens are EVERYWHERE and seem to dogs to be fluffy moving squeaky toys! Dogs left alone in the houses must be crated while you are gone. Be aware there is a $35 per dog fee! This must be left in the cabin for our cleaning staff. Guests in the Don, our smallest place, will enjoy overlooking the pasture in the evening while the deer creep out to graze, soaking in the outdoor tub, making a fire in the fire pit, walking the trails and, of course, swimming. If coming with a larger group and renting other cabins, please let us know so we can work out a special. We do reunions, instructive weekends (painting, writing, yoga, cooking, reiki, grounding to name a few) wedding parties and, heaven knows, plenty of fishing tournament groups. Give us a heads up and we can help with accommodations for those. The Don has become known as our “romantic” getaway and we can arrange to pick up flowers, wine, etc for surprises. Anyone going into a pasture with a crazy horse or wild boar, though, will not be relaxed. Other things to note PETS: We have had so much damage from chewing dogs that we have had to become sticklers for our pet rules. Dogs must absolutely be kept in a crate when owners are out of the house, even for one minute. They must be on a leash on the property at all times. They are not allowed on any furniture, including beds, even if they are precious angels and sleep with you at home. We understand it’s stressful leaving pets at home when getting away but the time has come for us to protect ourselves as well after sustaining damage in three separate houses over three weeks. We welcome pets who behave. While we don’t enforce this, we LOVE it when our guests remove their shoes when they enter. We’re a farm but love it when farm mud stays outside, where it belongs! We just want to make sure our houses are the cleanest and best for our guests.
