On the Rocks is perfect for a romantic getaway, a friends’ vacay gathering, a Dahlgren Naval Base detailee or a teleworker’s escape. Drop anchor and enjoy the salt life!! The cottage is well-appointed, stylish, comfy and private. It has central AC & Wifi! Max 4 guests, regardless of age/size. Three night minimum. 5 blocks to the exceptional beachs! Wood floors, ceiling fans, centrally located in a peaceful area. Great restaurants, live music on weekends at 4 different venues. Fun and safe town. The space On the Rocks is sunny and spacious, and has wonderful amenities to make your stay, be it 2 days or 2 months, just what the doctor ordered. Reduced rates are offered for long-term stays and Dahlgren Naval Base detailees. No pets allowed. Kindly remove shoes at the door. . .you’ll probably be wearing sandals or flip-flops, anyway. Colonial Beach is super casual. Make some great memories golf carting around town (rentals available in town), sunning/picnicking on the beach, paddle boarding, mini-golf, dining, dancing, bar-hopping, etc. This adorable, 1950s 900 sqft. cottage has 2 bedrooms (1 queen and 2 twin beds), 1 bath (a Japanese soaking tub/shower combo), a large and well-equipped eat-in kitchen, an HVAC, wood floors (except for the kitchen, bath and utility room), W/D in utility room, a back deck where you may enjoy your meals and beverages of choice, free wi-fi and a smart TV/Firestick in the living room and dedicated, free off-street parking for 2 cars. It’s a teleworker’s dream, as well. Guest access You and your guests will have the whole cottage to yourselves! It is one level. There are 4 steps to enter both the front door and the back door. The cottage’s design lends itself to a very comfortable, airy, charming and spacious cottage. Drop anchor, spread your wings, inside or outside. It’s the Land of Ahhhhs!! Other things to note Colonial Beach is known as the ‘Playground of the Potomac River’ for its long and wide sandy beaches, long town pier, 7 or so restaurants, several bars, a boardwalk, 3 playgrounds, 2 groceries, 2 breweries, a library, 5 churches, several marinas, a public launch ramp, beach shops, thrift shops and the fabulous Torrey Smith Park (named after CB’s hometown NFL hero) that has tennis/pickleball courts, basketball courts, a picnic pavilion, bathrooms and more! Colonial Beach has something for everyone at all ages at every pace! Location, location, location! On the Rocks is located on ‘The Point’, the sought-after peninsula at Colonial Beach that is bordered by the Potomac River (3 blocks to the east from where you may watch sunrises), and Monroe Bay (1 block to the west from where you may watch some of the most beautiful sunsets). From On the Rocks you can reach the beaches, restaurants, breweries, dancing and shopping within minutes! Park your car, rent a golf cart and enjoy the beach life. Ready, set, go. . .memories in a minute! Be sure to bring your bikes and beach/sports accoutrements so you can start the fun upon arrival! On the Rocks has a queen bed in the master bedroom and 2 twin beds in the second bedroom. Both rooms have ceiling fans as does the kitchen. It has central AC, too! The roomy and sunny kitchen has an electric stove/oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a fridge with an ice maker, a disposal, an island for buffets or for food prep. There will be cooking essentials and spices, but bring your favorites, in case. The utility room is adjacent to the kitchen’s eat-in area and offers a full size washer/dryer. Some suds/dryer sheets will be provided, but you may want to bring your fave. Bed linens and bath/beach/kitchen towels are provided, as are blankets and pillows. Bath soap, hand soap, dishwasher and washing machine soaps are provided as are shampoo and conditioner. Bring your fave, if you’d prefer. There will be a starter setup of toilet paper, paper towels and kitchen bags, but you may want to bring extras. . . just in case. On the Rocks is NOT for hearty partiers. This 1950s home is suitable for four friends, a family of four or two couples, but no more. The bath is small. There is a maximum of 4 people allowed, including babies and young children. Again, the master has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 2 twins.
