A cozy cottage in the heart of wine country. Walk to restaurants and tasting rooms and then relax on your own front porch or private back deck. The cottage has two bedrooms, both with Christopher Knight (tm) queen-sized beds for a great night's sleep and you can rent it as a one or two bedroom. Although we're walkable to many attractions, our street is tranquil and you'll enjoy sitting in a porch rocker with a glass of wine (in our varietal-correct Riedel glasses), or relaxing in the hammock. Welcome to your historic cottage, built in 1920 with period-correct furnishings but with all of the comforts of a modern home (like central heat & air and screaming fast Wi-Fi). Fully appointed kitchen (with everything you need to cook), laundry and outdoor spaces make this the ideal place to call home for a long weekend or extended trip. We provide all linens, fluffy towels and two luxurious robes in each bedroom. We also provide all toiletries including disposable razors, shaving cream, contact solution, toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, body wash, sumptuous body lotion, etc. (Just in case you forget anything). The house was recently fully renovated with brand new central heat and air conditioning and a new large capacity water heater (for luxurious soaks in the restored clawfoot tub!) as well as completely new plumbing pipes throughout and electric wiring to support all your gadgets. You'll just feel like you stepped back in time, but you'll have all of the comforts of today. COVID-19 INFORMATION: We do a complete cleaning and sanitize all surfaces between guests, including door knobs, light switches, etc. We have a 24 - 72 hour window between each guest as well. Almost all of the upscale restaurants in our area will deliver world class meals to the cottage or you can pick them up and enjoy them in the dining area inside the house or at the table on the back deck. Newberg is also 100% open for indoor dining with no mask mandate in place. We also provide a full kitchen for cooking, barbecue outside, etc. We provide masks, hand sanitizer and Lysol wipes for your stay. You will have the entire home to yourself - including outdoor spaces (porch with rockers, seating area with adirondack chairs and full deck with outdoor dining and lounging furniture and a hammock. Bocce Ball and Corn Hole court in the backyard. Full laundry room with washer and dryer. The home also has a small desk area with Wi-Fi for business travelers. The living room has a Smart flatscreen TV for watching Netflix/Hulu/Amazon, etc. We want you to feel like you're in your own little wine country cottage, so we will not be present during your stay, but are just a phone call or text away. Andrew is the owner of the wine shop "Valley Wine Merchants" which is just 6 blocks from the cottage, so you can pop in and see him with any questions or he can come over to assist you with anything you need. We have a very comprehensive guest book full of recommendations and locals "hacks" that we will email you in advance to plan your trip. Newberg is the very heart of Oregon Wine Country. There 10 tasting rooms within walking distance of our cottage and there are over 300 wineries within a short drive away. It's a short stroll to "The Painted Lady" restaurant (voted Oregon's Best Restaurant) and many other dining options, as well as to boutiques, antiques and quirky things to do. It's an easy walk to George Fox University as well. Newberg is also home to one of the last remaining drive-in movie theaters on the West Coast. The homes in our neighborhood are historic and we are known for our plethora of roses in season. You can walk to tasting rooms, restaurants, antique shops and historical sites. It's a short drive to Wineries and World-class dining. You can walk or take a 2 minute drive to George Fox University. We are also the owners of Valley Wine Merchants, the most comprehensive wine shop in the Willamette Valley, which is just 6 blocks away from the cottage. Please feel free to stop into the shop and say 'hi!' We're happy to make recommendations on which wineries to visit based on your palate. You can also contact Andrew in advance to help with winery reservations or to order wine to be delivered to the house prior to your check in. This home is perfect for long stays for visiting winemakers or wine distributors. Please message us for long-term pricing! Once you book, I will send a request through the portal for a $250 refundable security deposit, which you will need to click "accept" for. This will be charged to your credit card and held by Airbnb until after your checkout. Once you check out and there are no damages or violations it will be refunded within 14 days through the Airbnb portal. Any damages or loss will be charged towards this deposit and if there is any balance due over and above the $250 Airbnb will request that additional amount from you and provide receipts, etc. No parties or gatherings; only the registered guests are allowed on the property at all times. Especially during these times of Covid-19 this is strictly enforced. Should a guest disregard this rule they will forfeit their security deposit, be charged an extra cleaning fee and they will be charged a $25 extra guest fee for each person that entered the property. No animals of any kind are allowed in the home or on the property for ANY length of time. This includes pets, service animals, therapy dogs, emotional support peacocks, "allergen free" or non-shedding breeds, etc. The owner of the property is highly allergic, and we are maintaining this as an allergen-free home. (We also don’t use any harsh chemicals, and use all natural cleaning products). Please don't waste your time asking. Our allergen-sensitive guests appreciate knowing no pet has EVER stayed in the home.
