Cottage in Salt Lake City
Description
A cozy and private restored 1892 Queen Anne home in the eclectic SLC Avenues. The look and feel of the late 1800s with all modern amenities. Close to downtown SLC, the U of U campus, convention center and public transportation. If you just want to get away, this is the place. You will find light snacks, an assortment of teas and coffee and a Keurig Coffee Maker waiting when you arrive. We also provide disposable razors, makeup towelettes and Ibuprofen, as needed. The space Unique, serene and private setting! You will love this cozy and private getaway. The home itself was originally built in 1892 and largely restored to what it must have looked like in the early 1900s, yet it's fully modern with new appliances and even home automation (if you're a geek. Yes, Amazon's Alexa lives here ). On really hot days, there's a supplemental a/c (mini split) upstairs to help the air conditioning keep it comfortable. Stand alone cottage is loaded with charm. Furnished with hardwood floors and carpet throughout the rest of the home. The cottage is an architectural jewel with high ceilings and antique furnishings. Approximately 1,500 square feet to enjoy. Includes TV with streaming services available through your log in (Apple TV, Netflix, Hulu, etc.). The main bedroom has a king size bed. There is also futon in the den which folds out into a full size bed. Enjoy the private back yard with a deck, BBQ grill and a redwood hot tub (lined, so don't worry about slivers). There is also a deck upstairs accessed through the master bedroom with a nice view of the valley. Guest access Guests will have full access to their own cottage with high speed internet and streaming media to the TV; BBQ available on the back deck. Washer and dryer are available for your convenience. If you choose to dine in, there is a full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer with pots, pans, dishes and utensils) including a Keurig coffee/tea maker to get you started in the morning. The living room has a unique side table that folds out to be a dining room table when needed. There are lots of extra chairs. Both bathrooms feature antique claw-foot tub/showers and endless hot water! Keyless front door entry provides easy access for the duration of your stay. Important notes: There are six stairs leading to the front door, elevation changes on the main floor between rooms and a full staircase leading to the master bedroom. Both bathrooms have claw foot tubs which are great for soaking, but are taller than a standard tub to step into. Unfortunately, this property is not wheelchair accessible. Other things to note The primary bedroom/bath occupy the entire upper floor. You should be aware, the upstairs bath has a unique door, not too private, but quirky. There is a curtain added for privacy. We've chosen to preserve some of the uniqueness of the home, even if we don't fully understand it. There is a double size futon in the den. The living room has more than enough space for a friendly gathering. There is a small (5 foot) hot tub in the back yard so don't forget to pack a swimsuit (or not, it's a fully private yard). Just a couple of notes: because many of the fixtures and figurines are very fragile, and because the upper deck railing is not fully enclosed we don't allow children under the age of 8 to stay. Although we love pets, we don't allow them (including our own) to stay.
