Comfy Room on Horse Farm - Great for Birders!
Located in historic Chester County, our 18th-century stone farmhouse is nestled in a tranquil setting close to state and national parks as well as an hour by car or train to Philadelphia for urban life and rich history. Historic St. Peters Village is just around the corner. Very near is the upscale French Restaurant, La Maison in Coventryville. While you are here, add a relaxing aromatic facial treatment at the spa right here on the property (guest rates). The host is a licensed esthetician. The room for guests is located on the second floor and is quite spacious.(15 x 21) and cheery. (staircase is a bit steep) Windows face three directions and since the house sits on a hill there are great views. Located just across the hall is a private bath. Beds in the room include a queen and a single bed which comfortably accommodate up to three people. Floors are restored from the original yellow pine and made cozy with area rugs(URL HIDDEN)We have a geo-thermal heating and cooling system so the house is very comfortable throughout the entire year. The bathroom has been completely updated and includes a tub with a shower. Guests have a separate entrance which allows them access to a living room with a flat screen TV. Wifi is also available. Although breakfast is not served, tea and coffee are offered to guests in the morning. A small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker which takes pods are available to guests. At this time, we are not giving kitchen access to guests due to Covid-19 safety. Please only request to book if you are vaccinated twice plus the booster. We will be available to answer any questions about the area and give recommendations for activities, which are numerous in the area. We are also happy to engage in conversation with guests or happy to allow them total peace and quiet. Of course, this is the personal choice of guests. This is a very peaceful and beautiful area in Northern Chester County. Although it is rural, there are many things to do and see nearby. Also in the area is a distillery, with a restaurant in a restored barn and an alpaca farm among other attractions(URL HIDDEN)There are miles and miles of trails available for hiking as the nature preserve, the Crow's Nest, is located a quarter of a mile down the road as well as the Horseshoe Trail which intersects with the Appalachian Trail.(URL HIDDEN)St. Peters Village, a historic village complete with waterfalls, created by a glacier, is located just three miles away and offers fine dining as well as a gourmet coffee shop. There is also hiking in that area. (URL HIDDEN) Amish Country is a fifteen-minute drive to the west where you will see buggies, and beautiful farms, shop for quilts, and stop at roadside stands to purchase produce, baked goods, and flowers in season. There is also a glass-blowing studio nearby. A twenty-five minute drive will take you to the Amtrak Station in Downingtown where you can arrive in Center City Philadelphia in less than forty minutes where you can spend the day seeing historic sites, visiting the numerous museums, see a show, or taking advantage of the many entertainment options and enjoying the many famous restaurants in the city. There are horses on the property which add to the beauty of the landscape and we do warn guests that the fences are electrified so we suggest enjoying the horses from a distance. They are guests here since they actually belong to the neighbors who take excellent care of them. (never any foul odors) Also on the property is my esthetician spa in a separate historical stone cottage and as a licensed esthetician I offer facials and other treatments to my guests at a special guest price.
