The master bedroom and guest room both have comfortable queen beds, and the kids' room has two separate twin beds, with a pull-out mattress under one bed, as well as a pack-n-play for little ones. The kids' room has lot of unique features just for their enjoyment--perhaps they won't want to leave their room so you can be left in peace! The 3 bedrooms are all on the second floor. The tall ceilings mean that the staircase is longer and steeper than typical. The only shower/bathtub is in the master bedroom, which can be inconvenient for larger groups. The half-bath is downstairs and also houses the laundry. Please note: There are inherent dangers of children being children. Furthermore, Heartsease is not to be held responsible for shenanigans, including but not limited to: *scaling the cabin walls because they are made of logs *crawling through the captains beds underspaces *climbing the big cedar tree and getting sap all over hands and clothes *sleeping in the bear den (kids love it but always wake up cranky) *walking on the deck railings (which is absolutely forbidden as it is likely to do permanent damage to the railings, though only temporary damage to the child) Yep, this is a glimpse into my last dozen years as a parent! Guests will have access to all rooms (kitchen, living room, baths, bedrooms) as well as one storage shed where some toys and tools are stored. There is another outbuilding with miscellaneous building materials that will remain inaccessible to guests. I am available by text, phone, or email almost all the time. Beachwood had a private trail down to the unsandy beach. Not everyone can get down there--a spring runs over a part of the steep trail, making it tricky to get down to the beach. It's a quiet neighborhood, and you'll see more deer than people, though some of my favorite folks in the world live on this street. Yippy dog next door. Oh, wait, it got worse. Now there are two yippy dogs. Most people take the Mukilteo-Clinton State Ferry to get to South Whidbey Island. We are about 8 minutes from the ferry landing, and you will need a car. The cabin has plenty of parking (in the driveway, not the lawn!). It's a solid walk to downtown Langley (about 2 miles), and one beach is within walking distance, but most of the shopping and attractions are 5-20 minute drive. **Note: As visitors to the island, we ask all guests to be respectful of the health of island residents by following all current pandemic policies and recommendations. We have excellent neighbors and want to maintain good standing in the neighborhood by renting only to guests who are respectful of people and property. We have asked our neighbors to call me about groups that are unusually loud, exceed the allowed number of guests, light fires during burn bans, bring pets, or in any way create disturbances in the neighborhood. Excessive noise complaints will also be directed to the non-emergency police. In the event of a power outage, there is no water or gas heat. Extra water is kept on the premise and will last for a few days. The neighborhood is on well-water, and has new and updated filters at the source. The cabin is equipped with flashlights and there is a propane heater in the log shed. Outages on the island occur more frequently and last longer than on the mainland, and they will only happen when the cabin is booked by guests....I promise. Please note, there is no dishwasher. And while there is an iron, there is no ironing board. A towel on the counter worked in college and will work at the cabin. Bigger People: Gas grill, deck furniture, outdoor picnic table, roasting sticks and horseshoes (immediately to your right when you open the shed door), WiFi, Xbox One S, DVDs, Xbox games, board games, washer/dryer, coffee maker and French press, ice cream maker, microwave, George Foreman grill, popcorn maker, propane fireplace, and portable room fans. No access to regular broadcast TV (you're welcome!), but cabin has its own Netflix account accessible through the Xbox.
