They are only open on the weekends now For those who love to cook outside, the stone outdoor coal pit is for grilling. Or bring prepared food...you have the , option of paper plates or porecelan plates. We kept it small and pristine for a reason, so one can feel nature. And we dont have internet or Tv there otherwize it would be like being in the city. Get a feel for what it is like to be in a cottage in the woods. Feel what it is like to go back in time to the way it was, the way Pioneers lived a bit. There is electricity however but ...no internet no Tv and cell dont work here..... There is a whole flourishing ecosystem there with family of rabits, foxes, humming birds, bees, butterflies and birds wild turkeys and bears. Starting Winter from mid october till mid april depending on the weather when the temp drops below 32 there will be no outdoor shower and only 2 Five gallon water jugs inside for drinking cooking. There is aclawfoot tub where a shower bucket is so you can heat water and pour into bucket lower and then raise and you're ready for indoor shower in the fall . We have now installed portable ac There is a hiking trail behind our road Moore hill trail/Denning Road trail that goes to Red Hill fire Tower only 10 minutes away. Biscuit Brook great swimming hole, Blue Hole and Neversink Fishing about 2 miles from us. A snow mobile trail too for bikes which is right behind us on Barnes road. This place is not good for atv. and no hunting...and we don't want atv zooming up and down the road.. The nearest swimming hole is approximately 5 mins drive in the pristine Neversink River which is also great for fishing! The nearby YMCA is offering horse riding for kids and other great activities. Fresh organic fruits and vegetables are available at the nearby farms within a few mins drive from the cabin! This is a great place for people who like to hike, be with nature and get away from your cellphones {which is getting harder to do...right?} a time to reflect. When it get colder starting from mid october people must know how to use a wood stove This place is more rustic and close to the ground so one is immersed in nature. please follow Other things to note There is no wifi and cell service. This is the Catskills it’s not Alaska I don’t own the whole road so it can be very quiet but sometimes people can be on that road too No smoking at all , one dog on approval and not kept in house unattended or in a kennel. ...Also starting end September October, November when its colder up there and if temperature drops to 32 the water tanks will be drained , there will be no outdoor shower only water that is provided inside which will be 2 Five gallon water jugs which can be used for drinking and cooking and heating up some water to use washcloth or fill hand held shower Bucket with warm water provided in rustic bath indoors. If you have never used wood stove don’t book this cabin YouTube video us not enough… in the cold weather from October to December. For people who have one dog Read the rules section one dog allowed …well trained on a leash not one who barks nonstop ruins the stay of others on the road and not to be left unattended in cabin it is not a Kennel Guest access You can use all parts... but remember you dont know where my land boundries are ... plenty of hiking near by or just walk the road it becomes state land Other things to note Please don’t bring the city back to the woods like no music outside of cabin …there are other cabins and people come here to listen to nature. The glass sliding door has to be closed at all times or mice will wander in ….if you dont want animals to come in..so be responsible... pull all mosquito nets down when you open windows.. they will help with bugs and anything that might want to wander in...the cabin is great for campers and rustic types and those not cared of a bug or so... please take slippers for inside the cabin and take shoes off otherwise you will track in leaves from outside.. remember to keep sliding glass door closed at night ... to make sure nothing wanders into cabin..and keep the mosquito nets all down when u sleep...when you go out for the day close all windows and sliding glass door and barn doors...thanks a slot the shower provides cool showers or fill up shower bag with warm water or put in the sun for 2 hours or so and itll be warm. Also we dont give free firewood for woodstove its 24 dollars for 4 bundles...There be will be water from storage tanks starting end April to mid October to take a nice cool shower outdoors. after that when temp drops below 32 will have 2 Five gallon water jugs inside cabin for drinking after mid October. Pour into shower bucket. pull on rope till its raised rehook where that upside down hook is and open shower valve... take a 5to 6 min shower indoors in the fall One Dog is allowed but must be well trained and not left unattended in my cabin . Dog can not go on furniture and no pee pads allowed , must pick up dog poo as I walk bare feet when outside must be on a leash I cannot be responsible for dog running away or animal attack or if he goes to other cabins... its the country they might have a dog too and might not want your dog to be on their property. Up here the electric company responds if there is an outage within 3 hours so please let me know and be patient and let me know if there is an outage so I can call.. I dont offer weather related refunds as the are quick to respond up here once I am notified by guest Best to bring made food or use charcoal grill... and must know how to use a woodstove ... paper plates and bowls will be there too. No smoking inside or out.
