'The Nifty' (as we call it) is a sweet backyard hideaway, close to terrific beaches, forests and downtown Arcata/HSU. *We do negotiate pricing for extended stays, but ID and some personal/employment info required along with a higher cleaning fee* The space We call it "The Nifty" because it really is! This is a spacious, pretty and private garden apartment, with direct access to a wonderful backyard, panoramic views and sunsets. The Nifty comfortably accommodates up to three people (one queen and one single bed) and has a full kitchen and is well equipped for self-catering and longer stays. The apartment has an indoor toilet and vanity and a private, outside shower/clawfoot tub. Relax and enjoy....nobody's looking .... This apartment comprises part of a larger high end residence, but is fully self contained with it's own entrance. The house is located in a quiet semi-rural neighborhood overlooking Humboldt Bay, two miles from downtown Arcata and Humboldt State University, and seven miles from downtown Eureka. (If you are looking for a luxurious but fully inside bathroom experience, ask about our other offerings at this same location). Guest access Wireless internet. Fully equipped kitchen. Linens, bedding, bathrobes. A wonderful big clawfoot tub. Barbeque and backyard fire pit. Sunsets, big backyard gardens and terrific views. Other things to note If you have a thing about ever seeing an ant inside, this may not be the space for you. This neighborhood does have tiny black ants about and it's an unusual house that is tight enough to exclude them completely. So sometimes you may encounter the odd small black ant wandering about looking to bump into something tasty. Some times of the year they are more likely to find their way inside than others - after a big rainstorm for instance - and they may get excited and tell their friends if they bump into food you've left laying about overnight. We have canvassed this issue with guests, and the general consensus seems strongly in favor a non-chemical response to the occasional-ant-management issue. Inline with using earth and people sensitive cleaning products, we choose to not use bug spray and insecticide. We know that ants pre-date us in the neighborhood, and will no doubt also post-date us, so we opt to simply wipe up the occasional ant that wanders by rather than going the route of chemical 'fixes'. We hope you appreciate our efforts to provide a healthy environment for your visit, but we understand that if seeing an occasional ant causes you consternation, you may prefer to choose an alternative location. We do have other reliable never-an-indoor-ant options available :)
