This is a special neighborhood within the oldest section of Grand Marais. This was a property that was in the same family for generations, and now it is newly developed by the celebrated Minnesota Nordic architect David Salmela from Duluth. Pull in, park your car in the protected carport with it's green roof, and leave your keys on the counter- you won't need them again unless you are voyaging up the Gunflint Trail or to some of the more distant attractions. We love living here, we live next d 1 bedroom 1 bath, complete kitchen, panoramic views, beautiful contemporary lodging. The door will be unlocked and the key inside. No arrivals prior to 4:00 without owner permission. Must depart by 11:00 AM. Private entrance. We live next door, and if you need anything we are usually not far away. We enjoy interacting but we understand that many of our guests prefer their privacy. We are often out and about working on the grounds or clearing snow etc... if you see us say "Hi". Just off the harbor in Grand Marais. Aurora is part of a three cabin mini neighborhood called "tre søstre" which means "Three Sisters" in Danish and Norwegian. Check in time is any time after 4:00 PM and check out time is any time before 11:00 AM on the day of your departure. The address is 11 4th Ave West Grand Marais and the door area is accented with violet color. Take Highway 61 to Grand Marais, as the highway descends in to town you will come very close to the water of the harbor, that is where you turn left on W 4th Ave. You can see "tre søstre" up the hill a little on the left. Pull up the hill and turn in to the entrance and park inside the carport. The carport is not really designed for full sized trucks so if you feel it is too tight just park in the street, there are no parking restrictions in the street. The Aurora is the cabin nearest the street with violet color accents by the front door. There is plenty of room in the entry to set your things down and get organized. Enjoy this beautiful space. The door will be unlocked and the key inside, please leave it there when you finish your stay. To lock the door you need to hold the door latch in the up position to turn the key lock.The wifi code is written in the information book inside the building, along with lots of other useful information about the home, the town, and the region beyond. We live next door so let us know if there is anything you need. We don't often make special visits but we are usually around doing yard work, or shoveling (depending on the season). Thanks again!
