Located one mile inland from the quaint seaside town of Langley, Washington, enveloped by forest and water, Langley Retreat is the ideal location for hosting family gatherings, wellness and mindfulness retreats, creative workshops, or intimate special occasions. Charges you see include up to 12 people. $50 per night per person charge after that. The space Situated one-mile from the center of Langley, Washington, Langley Retreat on Whidbey Island is only one-and-a-half hours from Seattle by ferry , this a European manor house with dark wood exposed beams throughout and a spacious open floor plan. The 5400 sq ft Langley Retreat is defined by a central kitchen/living room/dining room and gathering bar/hall with a main sleeping wing off of this central area. The main living space is perfect for small group workshops or intimate yoga sessions (for up to 12 people) and can be transformed (thanks to the quaint bar) into a social place in the evening. Stretch and move about freely as this room connects to the lounge area by the fireplace as well at the 16 person dining table and kitchen. Make incredible meals from fresh, local Whidbey produce and entertain your group in our beautiful open retro kitchen and dining area. A 10-top gas oven and 16 chair dining table, offer an event space that is beyond compare. It connects with its open plan into the main hall with generous light from abundant windows offering relaxing views of the lush, green grounds and pond. Up a small flight of stars and down a long hall takes to the main sleeping wing (newly remodeled in 2021!) with 6 master bedrooms/private bathrooms and bistro dining/kitchen space. A house in itself, the two larger suites are on the ground floor with the bistro and have jacuzzi bathtubs and french doors to outside decks/sitting areas. The 4 other bedrooms are upstairs, again each with private bathrooms. In total 5 bedrooms are king beds and 1 is a Queen. Cook up dishes in this wing in our bistro-style kitchen and dining where you can sit around yet another cozy fireplace. The space can be used for smaller meetings and relaxing quietly away from the larger wing of the house. It fits about a maximum of 6 people to eat/cook. ----- Need even more than 6 bedrooms? We can provide bedrooms 7 which is just off the main kitchen and can offer a retreat host OR someone who needs to avoid stairs (wheel chair accessible ) so they can replenish away from other guests. It has a queen bed and kitchenette. There is also a family-friendly kids play area and useful sleeping quarters ("bedroom 8" and sleeps up to 6) in this part of the home. There is one bathrooom (with shower) for bedrooms 7/8. Please note: If needing beds set up in the overflow /caretakers room 8, there is a $50 per bed set up/cleaning fee. Guest access You have the whole 3 acres and the whole house to yourselves. The only thing NOT included in the booking is the extra fee ($50 per bed) should you require more than 8 beds set up. Our great hall is fitted with a bar top that opens to the outdoor covered patio which also has a bar, grill and dining areas. Two kitchens on the property allow event staging for meals. Plus, two separate lounge areas create zones for workshops and gatherings at different times of the day. Other amenities include: Ample free parking. Wi-fi throughout the property. BBQ area (May-October) Dressers or armoires in each guest room. Two two-person Jacuzzi’s (Bach Cello Suite No 1 and Hampton Court Suite). Desks in some rooms (a desk can be added on request) Eight working fireplaces. This home was designed for unencumbered living. The Grounds - 3 private acres, yet right next to town - the best of both worlds - land and sea! Stretch out on the great lawn and walk around the quarter acre pond. Sit amongst fruit trees, wisteria in the summer, and enjoy the sound of the brook that runs through the property. Play the many yard games (badminton, corn hole, ladder ball and more!) Our 500 sq ft covered outdoor patio — connected by double doors to the great hall and adjacent to the bar— is perfect for subdued evening gatherings, events and meetings complete with a blackstone grill and bbq. The amphitheater style fire pit is a place for evening storytelling and song. Private outside patio/deck areas for the 2 lower level guest suites. Other things to note Note: As we aim to be a place where visitors can unplug, we do not have TV’s in the bedrooms. We do however have a tv in the kids playroom, in the living room and in both bistro kitchens which can be moved to a bedroom if one of your guests desires it or we will move it on request! We have lots of board games, yard games , books and foosball! WIFI service is VERY strong BUT Cell phone data is spotty on our part of Whidbey Island - don't expect cell service unless you drive to town 1 mile, though wifi on the property works well. We are on a septic. We have neighbours who have children. Please be considerate of noise.
