The Main House has elevator access between the first floor and second floor for folks with limited mobility. The Library on the first floor of the Main House contains a large flat screen television, featuring various streaming platforms, including Netflix and AppleTV, and a gas fireplace. Connected to the Main House is the covered garage which features a ping-pong table and space for games. Note: Air conditioning is not guaranteed in the Main House. See notes below. THE LODGE The Lodge is our nickname for the living space above the garage. It contains a bedroom, a loft, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen, and a common area, where we practice yoga and exercise. It can accommodate up to four people. The bedroom contains two twin-sized beds (or a king-sized bed if pushed together; bed binders are available). The loft at the top of the second set of stairs contains a twin trundle bed. THE BUNKHOUSE The Bunkhouse contains sleeping accommodations for six people. The first floor contains two bunk beds (four bunks–please note that the maximum weight allowance for each bed bunks is 120 pounds) and the second floor bedroom contains two twin beds (or a king-sized bed if pushed together; bed binder is available). There is a full bathroom with a shower on the first floor. GROUNDS Our home is located on cliffs leading down to the Kennebec River by stairs. Depending on the time of year, there is a dock at the base of the stairs. There is a fire pit in the back yard. Note that, when the dock is not in the water, you cannot reach the tidal flats below. For enjoying the water, we recommend two other nearby areas, as well as Popham Beach. Note: The dock sits on sand flats at low tide and is not suitable for tying up your boat. We have nearby recommendations if you plan to bring your boat, canoe, kayaks, etc. There are also very stiff currents just off our dock, so we do not recommend launching kayaks or swimming in the river here. There is a proper kayak launch just 5 minutes up the road with much safer conditions. Due to liability, we do not provide bicycles or kayaks for guests to use. IMPORTANT NOTES Air Conditioning Please note that the Lodge has central air conditioning and the Bunkhouse has window air conditioning units. The air conditioning system in the Main House is outdated and requires extensive renovation to the house to replace it. Accordingly, you should assume that there is no air conditioning in the Main House. Choose your bedrooms accordingly. All bedrooms have standing fans. Pool Heating Pool is not heated, but can be; jacuzzi is heated in all seasons. Unheated pool is typically 60 degrees or lower. To heat the pool during the daytime (up to 78 degrees) and maintain it, guests pay $750/stay directly to owner. Heating the pool is optional and is available from June 1 - September 30. Pets Dogs, not cats, are permitted in our home. Additional Services You may elect private chef services; yoga and/or meditation instruction; and massage and other healing arts services, which are payable to the applicable service provider at the time of service, but which must be arranged prior to the your stay.
