This is our little paradise; a lovely colonial country home tucked away on 1 acre of manicured garden around an amazing infinity salt pool, overlooking the Atlantic ocean. Perfect for people who love nature and tranquility. We are mostly surrounded by rain forest & farms which makes it very quiet and peaceful. A lot of hiking trails nearby. We have AC( for $12 US daily per room) and ceiling fans which will make your stay very comfortable. We ask that you turn off all AC when out of the house. The part of the house you will be renting is 2000 Square feet= 185 square meters and is composed of 5 bedrooms of which 3 are very spacious and 2 smaller bedrooms; all of them with their en suite bathroom( shower and toilet). Two of the bedrooms have access to the main Balcony with a majestic view of the garden, the pool and the Atlantic ocean, the 2 others have their own private Balcony with garden view. Each bedroom has its private hammock that can be hung on its respective balcony. Note that we will prepare bedrooms and bathrooms according to the number of people(the unused bedrooms will be closed). The number of bedrooms we prepare reflects the number of guests; if you are alone we'll prepare one bedroom, if you are 2 we'll prepare 2 bedrooms and so forth, we'll ask you ahead of time how many bedrooms you need us to prepare. There is a well equipped big kitchen to cook for a big group of friends or family and a lovely big terrace where you can lunch/dine and enjoy the beautiful view of the Atlantic ocean. The house is a perfect get away from everything, ideal for a group of friends wanting to work in a home away from home( you have your own internet and internet is excellent 100 mbp with a Mesh system); rent a car and be totally independent. A cleaning lady will prepare the place for you a couple of days before your arrival, and will welcome you at the house. Cleaning included in your short term rental: Everyday the cleaning lady will come to the property for a couple of hours and do a light cleaning only if you wish some guests prefer being left alone( broom and clean up the terrasses), a change of towels is done every 3 -4 days depending on the length of your stay and a deep cleaning is done every week with change of linens. Note that she is not working on Sunday except for check in and check out. For long term stays( over 1 week) we charge $US 180 extra cleaning for each additional week to be paid in cash at arrival. If you wish to hire Albina everyday to do a deeper cleaning, wash your clothes, wash dishes etc she is available for $38US per day that you can pay in cash at arrival as well. Just let us know ahead of time. Hot water: we have a solar system for heating up the water, please allow the water to run for 2-3 minutes before getting hot rain water. When there is no sun the water doesn’t get that hot, be aware of it. Note that for LONG MONTHLY STAYS where we applied a discount the utilities that are NOT INCLUDED: Electricity/internet/cable/water The extra cleaning fee for each additional week after the first week, cooking gas and drinking water( at arrival we offer a 2 gallon bottle of spring water to all our guests but it is up to you to fill the 5 gallon bottle ( we have some empty bottles at home just ask Albina) at the spring for EC$10=US$3.75. Same goes with the cooking gas, we always have a bottle but when it is empty you have to purchase a replacement for EC$35=US$13) Please buy your own detergents. ACCESS: Guests have access to the whole property; it is a shared access to the garden when the property owners are present but the pool is all yours. Note that we will prepare bedrooms according to the number of people who booked( please let us know ahead of time how many bedrooms you need us to prepare). GARBAGE: You are responsible of throwing out your own garbage on Tuesday and Friday evenings into the black bin in the driveway. CHECK IN: The cleaning lady/ manager Albina will welcome you at the villa before it gets dark. After dark we'll leave you a key and instructions in a safe lock at the gate. In case you prefer Albina to check you in, you'll have to drive her home after dark, it's 5mn away by car; just let us know ahead of time. ACTIVITIES: I will send you all information by email once you book so you can organize your activities around the island during your stay. You can find a lot on the internet about activities on the island and distance from the house( villa colibri Mon Repos) Please note that ONLY registered guests are allowed on the property and in the pool unless we are informed in advance. The house keeper and myself will be available via internet for anything you need during your stay. The house keeper will do your check out, verify that all is in order and the place is broom clean, nothing was broken etc Please let us know if you broke glasses or plates so we can replace them for the next guests. Also make sure you leave behind all the sets of keys given to you, failure to do so will end up in deduction of all your deposit($US300) as we'll need to change the lock and make 10 copies. They are special keys made outside of the country, for your security we don't want any keys roaming around the island. If you can't check out at 11 AM please let us know at booking if we can accommodate you we will. But when expected to leave at 11 AM, you'll be charged $20US for every hour passed 11 AM. For stays over a week, we will collect at arrival accordingly $180US/week in cash to put towards cleaning lady fees. About the owner: I Razia Said am a singer song-writer environmental activist. I am originally from Madagascar wondering the world through Gabon, Paris, London, Milan, New York and six years ago fell in love with St lucia. I love creating nests, decorating, gardening, yoga, good food, traveling and comfort which brings me to start places to rent short time in New York, St Lucia and hopefully soon Madagascar where you can have everything a traveler wishes for; a good bed, 100% white cotton sheets and towels, good internet, good water pressure, a functional kitchen, a quiet place to rest, beautiful gardens a nice pool to swim and an atmosphere full of love. My partner and i sometimes live in the additional apartment below the house and IF/WHEN we are around during your rental we will be delighted to welcome you ourselves and socialize around a drink. My partner is a music producer/drummer/songwriter and is originally from Suriname. He has done his bit of traveling as well touring the world performing with different artists; he is into meditation, politic, cooking and of course music. The house is in the middle of Nature with lots of birds flying around the flowers and the fruit baring trees on the property; the center piece of the property is the lap pool. The little village 10-15mn walk from the house called Mon Repos is a quiet neighborhood where many local farmers reside. Special hiking tours can be arranged which are guided by a local self taught botanist Melvin and are the highlight of the guests experience visiting this property; please book in advance as he is quiet popular. There is public transportation( mini buses) from the main road which is a pleasant short 5mn walk from the house. You can manage without a car as the village of Mon Repos where you can get all the essentials is 15mn walk from the house. But we highly recommend to hire a car during your stay; all the touristic attractions being spread all around the island that will give you more freedom to enjoy your stay to the fullest. If you rather not drive, We can arrange private transport for you when ever needed. ONE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER IS THAT THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, WE ARE A PRIVATE HOME. We will do all we can to help you if any problem occurs but we are not a big team, we are just a staff of 4 people( including me, virtual property manager; Albina, the house keeper/ on island manager who is around the house a couple of hours everyday of the week except Sunday. Serieux our gardener who comes once a week on friday and a pool person Shem who comes once a week as well.( tuesday or wednesday). We'll do our best to make your stay comfortable, fun and memorable. We want to keep our staff to a minimum to give you more privacy, it also allows us to keep our prices on the lower end. CHECK IN: Please provide your flight information so that we can monitor your flights and be aware of your estimated time of arrival at the house.Also send us an email so we can send you some information about the house how to get there and what to do in the area, where to shop etc information that can help you plan your trip better. CHECK OUT: Albina will do your check out latest 11 AM on the day of your departure, verify that all is in order and the place is broom clean, nothing was broken and all is in perfect functioning condition. Please make sure the refrigerator is empty of all open food and the garbage has been thrown away in the bin in the driveway. Please make sure all your food garbage was thrown out NEATLY INSIDE the black bin(otherwise animals will come and tear them apart creating a huge mess) Please report any functional problem you encountered during your stay so we can get it fixed for the next guests, we are after all a community of travelers. We are located in the tropics on the edge of a rain forest so please make sure to bring some long cotton pants, socks and long sleeve shirts for mosquito and sand flies time( at dawn and dusk) and for the cool evenings between December and April.
