Lodge in Orkney.

Loanside Lodge is a newly converted one bedroom detached self-catering property set in the grounds of our family home. The Lodge is completed to a high standard making you feel like it's home from home. We are situated in the parish of Holm in the East Mainland of Orkney. We are the perfect location for visiting local wildlife and Orkneys archaeological sites. The Italian Chapel and Churchill Barriers are both a few minutes drive away and we are about 10 minutes (6.3miles) from Kirkwall. The space Loanside Lodge has been newly renovated to a modern high standard throughout 2020 making you feel like you are coming home from home. We are surrounded by open country side and farmland with views looking out to the Churchill barriers, Scapa Flow and the Hoy Hills. You will have private access to the entire lodge and the outside decking area. The Lodge can accommodate a couple or a couple with a baby/young child. We provide a welcome pack of some local food produce on arrival to help you get settled in. The welcome pack will include milk, bread, butter, eggs, cheese, juice and some Orkney fudge. (We can cater the welcome pack to meet any dietry/allergy requirements) There will also be tea, coffee and sugar. The lodge is all one level and comprises of one bedroom, a separate bathroom and an open plan kitchen/living room. The bedroom has a 4'6 (double) bed, two bedside tables and two bedside lamps, a large wardrobe, one set chest of drawers, one dressing table with a stool and a mirror. There is also a hair dryer and a 24' Smart TV. All bedding and pillows are provided. There are black out blinds and curtains and one air source heating unit to keep you warm and cosy in the winter or cool in the summer . The lodge can accommodate a couple, or a couple with a baby/young child. The bathroom consists of a rainfall shower and separate additional shower head, heated towel rail, a sink unit with storage underneath and a 2 door mirrored cabinet above the sink providing more storage. Towels are provided. The kitchen offers you a large double American style fridge/ freezer with an Ice cube dispenser, built in microwave, oven and induction hob with an extractor fan along with a kettle, 4 slice toaster and a Cuisinart grind and brew bean to cup coffee machine. There is also a built in dishwasher and washing machine/dryer. Sit and relax at mealtimes at the 2 seater dining table which can extend to seat 4. All crockery and cutlery is supplied to ensure you can eat in comfort. The living room has a corner sofa with a storage footstool, nest of tables, sideboard, corner bookshelf, floor standing lamp and a 43" Samsung smart TV.A second air source unit is placed in the kitchen to heat and cool both the kitchen and living area. Also provided is an iron and ironing board, washing basket and clothes airer. Free wi-fi is provided. Outside there is a large fenced decking area providing you with some privacy and an area to sit and relax on the outdoor seating while taking in the beautiful views. There are two dedicated parking spaces in front of the lodge which you can gain entry too through our main private gateway. A Strict no smoking policy is in place within the Lodge and no pets are permitted. A little about ourselves. The Lodge is a family run business. There is myself (Kim) and my husband Paul and our three children. We have one very friendly dog - Alfie who is everyones friend. Guest access There are a many nice walking/driving routes that can be taken around the area, these would take you around and through the Village.
