The Barn at Pentregaer Ucha, tennis court & lake.

Charming one bedroom self catering holiday let in traditional stone barn. The Barn is one of four self catering units available at Pentregaer Ucha, alongside The Granary, The Nook and The Stables, all can be found listed separately on Airbnb making a perfect getaway for couples or groups. All our holiday lets offer everything you need for the perfect rural retreat and are decorated and maintained to the highest standards; an ideal base for exploring both Wales and Shropshire. The space Enjoy complete peace and quiet set in 50 acres of rolling countryside with fantastic views of the Welsh Borders. Enjoy idyllic walks along the many adjoining footpaths including the Offas Dyke Trail, picnic beside our beautiful hilltop lake or enjoy a game of tennis on our court. Downstairs The Barn has an open plan kitchenette kitted out for all your basic self catering needs, with oven, hob, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. Glasses, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are all provided as well as tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There is a dining table and comfortable sofa with footstool where you can relax and watch TV after a day walking or exploring the countryside. Upstairs the bedroom offers a king size bed where you can be ensured of a great night sleep on our new pocket sprung mattresses with memory foam topping. There is a dressing table with mirror, hangers for your clothes and an en suite bathroom with shower. Towels are provided. Guest access Although very rural we are only a 5 minute drive to the town of Oswestry. A car is definitely recommended if staying with us as there is no local public transport and taxis normally need to be booked in advance. Take away delivery is not normally possible due to the rural location. Access is via narrow country lanes, we don’t provide main roads in the countryside! Other things to note Please be aware that although we offer wifi we are very rural and speeds are slow. wifi for checking emails, zoom and social media is adequate but streaming films on tv is hit and miss! Pentregaer Ucha holiday lets are all one bedroom properties, however if you have infants you are welcome to provide your own travel cot and bedding to accommodate them. The Granary would be the most suitable of the properties for this due to it being on one level and offering slightly more room. The Granary, The Barn and The Stables all offer King size beds while The Nook is cosier with a standard Double bed. The glass framed terrace in the photo showing the entire property is part of the main house and not accessible for use by guests in the holiday lets, however each guest suite has their own bench for outside seating and you are welcome to use the picnic table to relax and take in the views at our lake. Please note that for safety reasons the lake is not suitable for swimming, sailing or paddle boarding; there is wire fencing below the surface to keep stock in if the water level drops. We also do not allow fishing. If you require accommodation that includes your dog this is available in one of our other holiday lets 'The Stables' it can be found listed separately. The tennis court is available for use by all guests, we prefer it if you could provide your own rackets and balls, but we can lend them if required.
