*Featured in Food + Wine Magazine!* Welcome to Stars Hollow Chalet, perfect for a romantic getaway, family and friend getaways, or remote work with super-fast internet (rare in the area!). We're on the Fayston/Waitsfield line fantastically close to downtown shops, food, swimming & skiing. Explore all the Mad River Valley has to offer right down the street, then retreat back to the chalet, switch into your slippers and cozy up on our comfy green velvet and leather couches by the fireplace. In the summer and fall, step into the picturesque BBQ area, lined with string lights, and 16 feet of picnic tables for a beautiful sunset dinner looking out at the mountains. Enjoy board games on the large table with benches in the bar area of the main living space, or cozy up with a book in our book nook. Upstairs you’ll find a scenic place to cook dinner and eat with your loved one(s) while looking out over the mountains, or open the windows and the wall-to-wall- skylights in the morning to breathe in the fresh mountain air while sipping your coffee. Enjoy modern amenities like fast 500mb fiber internet speeds, wi-fi, YouTube TV, and wireless phone chargers and sound machines in every bedroom. Pamper yourself with luxury linens and towels. For a good time, visit nearby historic Waitsfield village for shopping and food 5 minutes away, or swim in our most popular swimming holes, waterfalls, and beaches all in less than a 5-minute drive. In the winter, you're within 15 minutes of Sugarbush and Mad River Glen, and only 35 minutes to Stowe. You'll be surrounded by the best, most farm-to-table food in Vermont, including Canteen Creemee, recently highlighted in the New York Times. Our home is easy to get to in any weather, we are right off (less than a minute) Main St. in Waitsfield, with no scary winding mountain roads to brave in the winter. Stars Hollow is decorated in art by local artists, filled with books by local authors, and furniture made by local artisans. We've provided all of our favorite places to see, eat, drink, and do, including suggested itineraries for having the best weeks and weekends in the Mad River Valley in any season. The two bedrooms upstairs look up directly into the peak of the house and skylights with open cathedral ceilings, lots of light, and are perfectly suited for parents and small children to have their own space together, but apart. Couples looking for more privacy will prefer the two downstairs bedrooms with their own bathrooms, each privately situated on opposite sides of the house. While our second-floor banisters are not toddler-friendly, we do have a toddler ourselves and have provided all the amenities you could need: baby gate, high chair, changing table, walker, mini crib, and pack & play. All you need to bring are your baby's linens! We try to help everyone have the most quintessential Vermont vacation and will help with lots of ideas! We welcome you to come and make staying at Stars Hollow Chalet your new family tradition! Guests have access to the whole house and yard including laundry room. We are available by phone or text to assist with anything during your stay, or provide you with suggestions for food and activities. We are less than a minute from Main Street in Waitsfield, and less than five from downtown Waitsfield Village which has cute shops, restaurants, and the most gorgeous swimming holes in the summer. In the winter, it's covered in twinkling string lights and always covered in just enough snow to be merry. With just a 10 to 15 minute drive to two ski resorts (Sugarbush and Mad River Glen), there's no shortage of activities. A vehicle is required to get around. Cell reception is not great on our street however wi-fi calling works great, the internet is very fast, and we also have a landline for emergencies.
