Expect to see deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, coyotes and skunks year round. We get an occasional bear or mountain lion, too. Our location offers an easy access to all season entertainment from NATURE activities in Stanislaus National Forest that include: hiking, biking, disc golfing, fishing, skiing, snow play, swimming, kayaking, sailing, to CULTURAL activities in Twain Harte downtown: concerts, farmers market, playground, restaurants, golf, swimming pool, mini golf, Black Oak Casino Entertainment of all kinds for all ages, lively Sonora scene with variety of restaurants & bars and different festivals in surrounding areas throughout the year. Access code available one day before your check in. No early check in or late check out is available. You will have all the house to yourself. A few storage areas are kept under lock and key or clearly marked as private. These do not impact your stay, as you wouldn't normally use any of them anyways. Laundry room is available for guests that are staying 7 days or longer. Laundromat is 3min away. If you need any help-feel free to reach us. At least one positive review required to book. Please exercise reasonable caution when driving and moving around, especially during snow and ice. Make sure you check the weather forecast before your journey during the winter and equip properly. *Upon reservation $500 security deposit will be authorized on your credit card. That hold will be released upon your departure. As an option you might want to consider traveller insurance as we are not accepting last minute cancellations due to unpredictable circumstances. *The Hummingbird Nest Home is equipped with 2 outside security cameras. We care about the security of our home and neighborhood. * We provide the basic supply to start you with paper towels, toilet papers and trash bags. When you run out there are several nearby stores to replenish your supplies during your stay. *Hummingbird Nest House is NOT a party house. We try to maintain respect and friendly relationship with our community. *BBQ propane tank is available, but not actively maintained. Consider bringing your own tank or exchanging existing at the nearby gas station if out. *All amenities are available seasonally. If you require something in particular, like access to a hot tub, or a ping pong table, or grill during your stay, please ask if this is possible ahead of reserving. Sometimes access to some amenities it is not possible for weather, safety or other reasons. *Guests do not have garage access. *Backyard kids toys are exposed to elements *Trash is a big issue in the mountain, so we would kindly ask you to dispose of your trash in the appropriate bin. Blue bin is only for paper and plastic and no food items. Bears will get to it and spread the trash. Black bin is bear proof and you have to make sure to lock it after you leave your trash inside the bin. *No confetti, glitter or small balloons on the property inside or out. Automatic double fee is charged if found. Wildlife doesn't like it either. *Our library collection has to stay intact upon your departure to avoid additional charges. * Lost items will be kept for 30 days. After that we will consider your items abandoned and will donate them.
