Have you ever wanted a peek into a 147 yr old home? Not only can you see one, but you can stay in one of Port Huron's historic homes with original features intact. Built in 1875, the Shingle Style Victorian, Pear Tree Manor still has original features such as leaded glass windows with wavy glass, original gasolier lights converted to electric, unpainted original woodwork, majolica fireplace tile & carriage house. Come find the "secret" back staircase to what was the maid's room in the past. The space Preserved Victorian home with modern amenities. It has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with original claw foot soaking tubs. Each room is fully furnished with a mix of modern furniture and a touch of Victorian items. The original unpainted woodwork shines throughout the main floor. Each bedroom is unique with its furnishings that will invite you to stay and relax while you visit. The "maid's" room from an era gone by still exists. The "servants" staircase from a period when we lived a different way of life invites you to explore this beautiful home. If these walls could talk! Guest access Pear Tree Manor is close to downtown Port Huron with all the lovely shops, restaurants, and waterways. A new grocery market is opening on Main St. minutes away. Other things to note We can accommodate more than 8 guests! Please enter the correct number of adults and teenagers. We have an automatic charge for larger families or groups starting with the 7th guest and more at $35 per night per person. Please let me know if the website does not work properly or blocks you in this regard (we do not allow parties... see below). We welcome children and because of the historical nature of the home, we ask that parents keep an eye on them while in the home and on the property. We are no smoking (cigarettes, vaping, incense AND weed), drug-free house. Not weed-friendly. No smoking also means no open flames (candles, etc) inside the house, porches, stairs, stops or near the structures. There is an ashtray located on the back patio for your outdoor cigarette smoking. There are electric candles inside the house if you need some ambiance. Even though we love furry friends, no pets are allowed at this property. There are excellent local pet boarding places in the area. Pear Tree Manor is not one of them. Do not book for a party. We have cameras and if you violate our guest policy, you will have to vacate immediately and will not receive a refund. If you’re interested in hosting a reception or small party on the property, please contact us directly for those details and separate pricing. Do not book this home for employee housing. We are not set up for that. This is a luxury home with delicate historic surfaces. If you are booking this home, you must be staying there for the booking days/nights. We do not allow bookings for someone else or other people. Please ask if you have questions. Thank you.
