We supply a starter set of essentials that includes: 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom 2 rolls of paper towels Dish soap Hand soap Tissues Kitchen and bathroom trash bags You will have access to the upstairs part of the home (owner storage is downstairs), all the decking, driveway, and yard space. There are red switches on the bottom porches that will turn on access lights for you. You can access the pond from our home but please note **there is no dock** for the kayaks and paddleboard. You will need water shoes to “put in” as there are rocks in the pond. The Pearl of Hatteras is located in Hatteras Village, at the end of Hatteras Island. Other things to note WHAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER: ***Since we are a dog-friendly cottage, we do not recommend booking this listing if you have allergies to dogs. We clean our home very well, but during the cleaning process, dog hair may get swept into the air and you may occasionally find a few stray hairs as they settle after the cleaners leave.*** ★ THE VIBRANT AND HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM OF THE ISLAND MEANS BUGS EXIST IN THE OUTER BANKS★ The Pearl is located on a barrier island, right on the water. This means we are extra susceptible to insects. We realize it can be jarring to see bugs in and around the property. The Pearl does receive regular pest control services, but sometimes these bugs still get in the home, especially if doors and windows are left open or cracked. The bugs you may see include (but are not limited to): -Ants -Wasps -Palmetto/Water Bugs (also known as the AMERICAN cockroach, it is not the same as the GERMAN cockroach, which will infest your home) -Mosquitos -Beetles -Moths Seeing these bugs in the home is not cause for alarm. You can lessen your chances of an encounter by keeping doors and windows closed, as well as keeping the exterior lights off. Unless there is an actual infestation of the home (meaning you see many (not just one or two) of these insects located in one space) no refunds will be given if you spot these insects. If you suspect an infestation, please document with photos and send immediately to the owner. ★ NON-SMOKING PROPERTY★ No Smoking on Site: There is no smoking or vaping permitted anywhere on premises. This includes in the front, back, and side yards. Any smoking evidence will result in a fee for odor removal, duct cleaning, and furniture cleaning. ★ PLEASE CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR PETS ★ If there is evidence of pet waste, an extra fee will come out of your security deposit ★ PETS MUST REMAIN ON LEASH AT ALL TIMES★ Please always keep your dog on a leash. ★ NO PETS IN THE BEDS★ It takes our cleaner an excessive amount of time to clean dog hair out of linens and mattress covers. If excessive dog hair is found in the beds, you will be responsible for an extra cleaning fee of $50/per bed. ★ KAYAKS AND PADDLEBOARD ★ You have use of two kayaks and one paddleboard. You must sign a waiver for them, even if you decide not to use them. *All cultures & LGBTQIA+ are welcome in our home*
