Situated 2 hours from Chicago 20 Acre Woods is the perfect place to retreat, reconnect with your humans and explore Van Buren County. The space This is an original 1970's cedar built cabin. Immerse yourself in 70's gothic realness. We've given it some modern updates - a newly modeled kitchen, bathroom fixtures, filtered water, underfloor heating and contemporary lighting. You are situated on 20acres with deer trails through the acres on both sides of the cabin. Heating is, underfloor on the main floor, electric baseboard in all rooms and the country comfort range in the family room, which is small but mighty and will get the place toasty. Air con is a window unit and keeps the whole cabin comfortable. Wifi is available but it is satellite so can be slow at times. Guest access Local towns of Bangor (farm shop for fresh produce), Paw Paw (bakery boutique, kayaking), Watervilet (outdoor movies in the summer). Hiking is plentiful on the Van Buren and Kal-Haven Trail. Other things to note When the weather and bugs allow, swimming in the river is great. It's so full of minerals its like a spa. We dip in along the trail by the back porch. The bank is natural - muddy/clay but the river bottom is sand. It's also great for a paddle. Every season is different but do come prepared for bugs in June/July.
