Private apt. w/own entrance, front door, street address, for long-short working/leisure stays. Short 2-bls to Melrose Ave, Beverly Bl; 3-bls to The Grove (shopping), Farmer's Market (ethnic food-showbiz cafes), CBS-TV City (HBO shows), Pan Pacific Park (fitness-recreation), Whole Foods, Trader Joe's & Erewhon mkts; 5-bls to Ralph's supermkt/phrmcy & mid-Wilshire "Miracle Mile" offices such as SAG-AFTRA & Cedars-Sinai Medical, plus museums such as LACMA, Peterson Automotive, LA Craft & Folk Art). (NOTE: Wish to stay only a month? You can inquire as to a *31-night* stay. That will avoid LA's stiff, $300+ bed tax. Then pls await a go-ahead to book). Quiet, private, furnished, first-floor, mid-'20s, flapper-era, Spanish-style bedroom villa--with its own front door, unique address and mailbox. Features renovated kitchen and bathroom. Equidistant from mid-Wilshire, Miracle Mile, Beverly Blvd., Melrose Ave., Fairfax Ave. districts. Walkable to landmarks like the Grove, Farmer's Market, CBS-TV City, Pan Pacific Park, even Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (please search those terms to learn more about the immediate area, which is on Hollywood's southwest border, and is also known as Mid-City West). In addition to enjoying apartment's own, exclusive entryway, front door, street address and mailbox, you will receive a permit for City of L.A. street parking, which is available directly in front of the house. Off the living room, there is a large, front-facing, fully private, tree-hedged, paver-stone patio (good for open-air dining). Apartment is updated with new paint, hardwood floors; fully-equipped, sunny, eat-in kitchen; a laundry-room with full-size washer-dryer separates; again, the new patio, with 9-foot umbrella (and again, it's great for al fresco dining, entertaining); a walk-in closet; an Italian queen-sized bed with French linens; a new 42" LCD TV with DirectTV (cable includes movie channels); a custom cream-colored wicker rocker; a blonde-wood rocker with white-cotton cushion; a long desk, desk chair, generous shelving, and a robust and reliable WiFi system. Five- to 15-min. trip to famous sites such as Universal Studios Hollywood, Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater, Hollywood Bl. & Vine St. Also a short walk to funky and/or elegant shops/eateries on Melrose Ave., Beverly and La Brea Blvds. Your short five-minute walk to the Grove or Farmer's Market will be highly rewarding (adjacent to the Grove, Farmer's Market is a casual showbiz meeting place with produce stands and ethnic food stalls). It's a short walk, too, to other high-end cafes/shops, offering kosher and ethnic cuisine. Or for foods to prepare or ready-to-eat meals to take away, walk to close-by Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Erewhon, and Ralph's foodstores. Take two-block walk to Pan Pacific Park with its hiking trails, Holocaust museum, free fitness center and adult pool. Need health care or emergency help? It's only a five-minute, two-mile car trip to Cedars-Sinai Hospital & Medical Center. A car is not essential due both to the central location and public transit nearby at Gardner/Beverly (connects notably to Metro subway station at Vermont/Beverly). But if a car is still desired, nearest Hertz Rent-a-Car office is a 12 min. walk away (.6 mi); nearest Enterprise Rent-a-Car office is a 13 min. walk away (.7 mi). Zip car station is also nearby. Hang your hat at our welcoming house to avoid those busy, difficult hotels-motels during your extended L.A. stay-- whether you're here as a working professional or your own "TravelArtist Diva," seeking to savor L.A.'s eternal summer (with moderate Mediterranean temperatures). ***FAQs*** Parking? Yes, there's on-street permit-parking directly in front of the villa, viewable from indoors, day and night. At night, the street is illuminated by several high-intensity LCD street lamps. Host provides permit, returnable w/key at end of stay. Public transit? Yes. Metro bus stops on Beverly Blvd. only two blocks away, a 2-min walk. Metro bus stops on W. Third St., about four blocks away, a 7-min walk. These give access to Metro bus lines going east to downtown and west to Beverly Hills, Westwood, West LA and Santa Monica, etc. Useful Metro bus #14 going east at Gardner/Beverly connects quickly to Metrorail station at Vermont/Beverly. From there, visits to the various areas, whether Hollywood, Downtown, or even Exposition Park (the California Science Center--via #754 bus) possible and take about 25-40 min. Taking the bus the other way, west, first, gets you to a number of north-south buses (207/217) at Beverly/Fairfax, and onward in about 40 min to places like Getty Center in West LA/Brentwood. Metro "Rapid" buses are express buses also available to the Westside. Please utilize search programs and maps, of course, to scope your destination(s) while using system. Also, plan on visiting a number of places within an area such as Hollywood or Downtown, since it's mostly feasible to visit only one of those areas per day. Kitchen amenities? Yes, these include basic stoneware, silverware, pots, pans, glassware, containers, appliances, etc. House stays cool? This part of L.A. sufficiently inland and elevated that the installed ceiling fan & A/C unit are rarely needed. Villa stays cool on the hottest days--five windows open to and admit the daily, southwesterly, offshore breeze. Coastal L.A.'s climate is very cool and dry, with low humidity, few bugs. Patio's French door, tall side windows openable. Is the area safe? Yes, residents freely use the sidewalks and streets at night, but not noisily, to reach their cars and attend parties and get-togethers, which are common. Front patio and street parking in front of house bathed in beams of light from bright LCD streetlights steps away. House has own exterior lights, barred windows, and deadbolt locks. On-site agent-manager? Yes. Professional agent-manager lives in a sister house a few doors down the block. The agent is available 24/7 by phone/email or "live" to assist with maintenance, cleaning security, emergencies and guests' other needs. Is area "hip"? Yes, it's a hip combination of quiet/private, on the one hand, and metropolitan/cosmopolitan, even touristy, on the other. Food stores nearby? Yes, again, you'll be able to take a short walk to multiple Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Erewhon food stores nearby. Close subway station? Besides Vermont/Beverly, there's Hollywood/Highland, site of Kodak Theater and film industry's annual Academy Awards ceremony. Earthquake hazard? No. House has withstood all L.A.-area tremors/earthquakes for many decades without damage. Its foundation lately serviced and retrofitted to the frame during 2016 and 2017. ### Personal, private entryway, entrance, front door, mailbox and unique street address; living room and, off the living room, a fully private outdoor dining patio; bedroom area includes full-size desk with typing return (can double as vanity); kitchen with breakfast nook and, off the kitchen, a personal laundry with full-size, separate, washer and dryer machines; separate toilet and sink area; completely tiled adjacent custom shower area. ### Agent-manager on-call a few doors down--24/7, by phone, email or in person--to assist with maintenance, cleaning, security, emergencies, guests' other needs. The goal--to give guests the absolute maximum in terms of freedom, space and privacy, while remaining available and useful when needed. Please see the house manual elsewhere in this listing for more details. A house manual addendum, including house rules and guide to the neighborhood, is provided upon check-in. ### Very safe, well-lighted, well-situated neighborhood. Like L.A.'s beach cities, has a cooling offshore breeze (245 ft above sea-level). On Hollywood's southwest border, aka Mid-City West. Walking distance to Wilshire's Miracle Mile, Beverly Blvd., Melrose Ave., and Fairfax Ave. shopping districts; to major high-end shopping (the Grove) & food shopping (Farmer's Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Erewhon). Two blocks from L.A. landmarks CBS-TV City & Pan Pacific Park (please search those terms to learn more about the immediate area). Both Metro buses and the brand-new citywide Metrorail system available nearby. Metro bus stops on Beverly Blvd and Melrose Ave., only two blocks away, a 2-min walk. Metro bus stops also on W. Third St., about four blocks away, a 7-min walk. These give access to Metro buses connecting to Metrorail trains--whether going east to downtown or west to Beverly Hills, Westwood, Culver City, West LA and Santa Monica. For example, very useful Metro bus #14, going east at Gardner/Beverly, connects quickly to MetroRail station at Vermont/Beverly. From there, visits to the various areas, whether Hollywood, Downtown, or even Exposition Park (the California Science Center, via the #754 bus) can easily be taken (taking about 25-40 min). Taking the bus west, first, gets you to a number of north-south buses (207/217) at Beverly/Fairfax, and onward in about 40 min to places like Getty Center in West LA/Brentwood. Metro "Rapid" buses are express buses also available to the Westside. Please utilize the system's maps, of course, before using system. Also, plan on visiting a number of places within an area such as Hollywood or Downtown, since it's mostly feasible to visit only one of those areas per day. ### Please search the Grove, Farmers Market, CBS-TV City, Pan Pacific Park or Cedars-Sinai for more information on the immediate neighborhood. The apartment is designed for double-occupancy. A third guest, e.g., a loved one or friend-in-tow, may be allowed to stay briefly without charge. More usually, the host charges an additional nightly fee for a third guest. For gatherings or events, guests and their invitees should be limited in number--for example, dinner on the patio for six persons in total. *Please inquire before booking*--especially for early check-in or late check-out (to be arranged in advance).
