Country Cottage near Edinboro and Meadville

Pet Friendly 1 bedroom cottage on 3+ acres between Edinboro & Meadville, just off Historic PA Route 6 in Venango. Edinboro University and Allegheny College are within minutes. Relax & enjoy tons of recreational opportunities in the area. We have 2 cottages on our property. This rental is for the 1 bedroom. Please note that our other cottage may be rented during your stay. Questions, just ask! The space This cottage is a 1- bedroom cottage. We are not too far off Interstate 79 and about 18 miles off Interstate 90. We are conveniently located for cross-country travelers that are looking for a place to spend the night and let the dog run on our walking trails. We offer our 3+ acres of property to enjoy with walking trails, fire pits and more! Our property is frequently visited by Whitetail Deer, turkey, groundhogs, rabbits and more. Our cottage is just off mile marker 34 along Historic PA Route 6 and is minutes from so many recreational destinations such as: Edinboro University - about 8 miles away Allegheny College - about 12 miles away Country Meadows Golf Course (Public): 0.25 miles away Venango Valley Inn (Public): 1 mile away Riverside Golf Course (Public): 4.1 miles away Historic PA Route 6: turn right from the driveway and go .25 miles…you’re there! Our Cottage is just off mile marker 34. French Creek: about 1 mile away Fish, kayak or canoe on what’s been labeled as the most ecologically significant water sources east of the Mississippi river. Riverside Brewing (Microbrew): about 8 minutes away Some Features of our Cottage: This is an older cottage about 1,034 sqft in total size with some newer renovations. You will see slightly steeper steps to the 2nd floor than you would see in a newer home. The kitchen/dining room ceiling is about 7ft high. The ceiling in the 2nd floor bedroom and bathroom is around 6 1/2ft high. You will hear some creeks in the floor in certain areas, a few nics on some walls and other things you would find in an old country cottage. The kitchen base cabinets and countertops were replaced in 2021, the living room was completely remodeled in 2014. A small back deck was built in 2023 off the living room door. Please note the bedroom and bathroom are both on the 2nd floor. This is a dog friendly cottage and although we run air purifiers and do ample cleaning between guests, we can't guarantee that a guest with a dog didn't check out the morning you are checking in so if you are allergic to dogs, please keep this in mind when renting. If you are use to staying at places like the JW Marriott, you will probably not be satisfied with our cottage as this is not a secluded luxury accommodation. There is a private residence directly (within 25ft) beside this cottage against the kitchen window. Full kitchen - cottage is on well water, some guests bring their own drinking water based on preference of taste Electric stove - front left burner does not work Air Conditioning in bedroom and living room TV: local channels only Bed: Queen with an additional futon sleeper Outside fireplace Outside grill Our property houses 2 cottages available for nightly rental and full access to the property. Each cottage is rented separately so there may be another guest staying at the 2nd cottage during your stay. Cottages are about 150 feet apart. Guest access 3+ acres of land. Take a walk on our walking trails, have a camp fire out back and watch the sunset, use our grill or just relax. Minutes from Edinboro University, Allegheny College, 3 golf courses, 960 acres of state game land, French Creek boat access, Riverside Brewing Company and much more!! Other things to note There are 2 lakes for good fishing within 10-15 minutes from the cottage. Edinboro lake to the north - more boating and activity on this lake Woodcock Lake to the south - more primitive lake
