This unit offers a front porch area with 2 Acapulco rocking chairs to sit back and relax in as you enjoy the beautiful weather with a cup of coffee in the morning. Or enjoy a beer/cocktail in the evening with the beautiful sunset. Just to the side of the house, there is a newly built patio area with adequate seating for you and your family and friends. Stratford is the home to 2 beaches: Short Beach and Long Beach, which are both located on the Long Island Sound. Short Beach is a 7 minute drive from the house!! This beach has so much to offer! On the beach you can find picnic areas, a calisthenics course, and a playground. Additional recreational areas include a golf course, softball fields, basketball courts, paddleball, tennis and volleyball. Long Beach is located in the lordship area of Stratford. This beach does not offer as much as Short Beach. Parking permits are required for the summer months. However, the eastern end of Long Beach is designated as a public beach area and is used for bathing, sailboarding, and fishing. Another beach located nearby in the town of Milford, the next town over, is called Silver Sands State Park. This is about a 10 minute drive from this property. Silver Sands is also located on the Long Island Sound and is open to the general public. The state park consists of 297 acres of beach, dunes, restored salt marsh, open areas and woods as well as the 14-acre bird sanctuary of Charles Island. The park offers swimming, picnicking, trails, boardwalks, and opportunities for bird-watching. On the first and third Sundays, from May through October, the town of Stratford hosts the Shakespeare Farmers Market, located within a minute drive or 3 minute walk around Selbys Pond. The hours are from 10am to 4pm. Here you can find live music, 40+ crafters, farmers and food trucks. Pull up a chair and enjoy the beautiful scenery and atmosphere. It is located near the Housatonic River where you can talk a beautiful walk and visit Mac’s Harbor and wander down to Bonds Dock! Guests can get around via private vehicle, ride sharing services (Uber/Lyft), public transportation, or bikes. This property is located in a great area. In a central location close to major highways and public transportation. It is located a few minutes from a major R.R. Station that can take you to New Haven, CT or NYC. Close to major colleges and Universities in Fairfield County. Sacred House University (20 minutes), Fairfield University (15 minutes), and University of Bridgeport (10 minutes). It is within minutes to major shopping plazas, restaurants, bars and recreational activities. It is located close to the Housatonic River where you can launch your boat, kayak, jet skis, etc from. You can dock at various restaurants on the water and enjoy dinner and refreshing beverages! There is so much to do and enjoy in this great area. This property is located 20 minutes south of New haven where you can get the best pizza in the COUNTRY! It is also located minutes from Milford which has great restaurants and night life.
