The space Perched on a hillside within the renowned Finca Los Monos Botanical Garden, Casa Botanica is a private tropical estate just 130m from the beach and minutes from Bocas Town. It consists of three separate living spaces spread throughout the property and can accommodate up to 10 guests. Your stay includes our 6-seater golf cart at no additional charge, giving you the freedom to explore Bocas del Toro at your own pace, from beaches and restaurants to town and everything in between. The Space Casa Botanica consists of three separate living spaces spread throughout the property and can accommodate up to 10 guests. 1. Main Villa & Master Suite The main villa features a spacious open-plan kitchen with a large eat-in island, living area with sofa bed, full bathroom, workspace, and a large covered deck with outdoor dining. Across a covered walkway is the private master suite with an ensuite bathroom and its own covered deck. Together, these spaces comfortably sleep up to 4 guests. 2. Ocean View Mezzanine Above the main villa sits one of Casa Botanica's most unique spaces: a stunning open-air, double-storey mezzanine with sweeping views across the botanical gardens, rainforest canopy, and ocean beyond. Designed to embrace the tropical climate and surrounding nature, this elevated retreat is filled with comfortable lounge seating, oversized sofas, and cosy chairs, making it the perfect place to read, practise yoga, enjoy sunset cocktails, watch wildlife, or simply relax with the cooling ocean breeze. At the rear of the mezzanine you'll find a charming mini-bar with a small fridge and bar seating overlooking the jungle, perfect for sunset drinks or a quiet morning coffee. Upstairs is an open-air double bedroom with a dedicated workspace, allowing guests to wake up surrounded by birdsong and nature. Please note there is no bathroom in the mezzanine. Guests use the bathroom in the main villa or master suite. 3. Studio Casitas For groups larger than 6 guests, two detached studio casitas can be included. Each studio sleeps 2 guests and can be configured with either a king bed or twin beds. Both feature an ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, workspace, wardrobe, and private covered deck. The property's multiple buildings create a wonderful balance of togetherness and privacy, making it ideal for larger families, retreats, and groups of friends. Guest access While Casa Botanica is exclusively yours to enjoy, it is also a living tropical estate that requires regular care. As part of your stay, we provide complimentary light housekeeping every three days, and you may occasionally see members of our team—including our gardener, housekeepers, maintenance staff, breakfast chef, or delivery personnel—working around the property. All staff have authorized access where required, and we do our best to carry out any work discreetly and with minimal disruption, ensuring you can relax and enjoy your private island retreat. Other things to note Good To Know: - You're Staying In The Rainforest Wildlife is one of the highlights of Casa Botanica. Guests regularly spot hummingbirds, butterflies, tropical birds, sloths, frogs, and howler monkeys on the property. We maintain hummingbird feeders and leave fresh fruit out for local birds, making wildlife sightings common throughout the day. The gardens were specifically designed to attract wildlife, making sightings a regular part of daily life at Casa Botanica. As with any tropical environment, insects and small critters are part of the experience. If you're uncomfortable with insects or wildlife, this may not be the ideal stay for you. - Open-Air Tropical Living Casa Botanica was intentionally designed to work with the tropical climate. Several areas of the property are open-air, screened, and naturally ventilated to maximise airflow and cooling sea breezes. Guests are often surprised by how comfortable the property remains without air conditioning. Ceiling fans, screened living spaces, thoughtful architecture, and the surrounding vegetation work together to create a naturally cool environment. If you're looking for a sealed, fully air-conditioned hotel-style experience, Casa Botanica may not be the right fit. - Multiple Buildings The property is spread across several separate structures connected by garden paths and walkways. This layout offers privacy and flexibility for groups but may not suit guests who prefer all bedrooms within a single building. - Hillside Location Casa Botanica is located on a hillside overlooking the surrounding rainforest and ocean. The elevated setting provides beautiful views, cooling breezes, and a wonderful sense of privacy. The beach is approximately 130m away, but access involves walking up and down a fairly steep hill. Most guests enjoy the short walk and the views along the way, but guests with mobility concerns may prefer to rent a golf cart, bicycle, or use taxis during their stay. - Child Safety Casa Botanica includes an unfenced swimming pool, natural pond, elevated decks, open staircases, and an open-air mezzanine. Because these features are not equipped with child safety gates or barriers, the property is not suitable for children who are crawling to 6 years old. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children at all times throughout the property. Casa Botanica is particularly well suited to families with older children, retreats, friend groups, and multi-generational travel thanks to its multiple living spaces and generous communal areas. - Breakfast Service As part of your stay, complimentary breakfast is prepared and served daily in the main villa by the chef from Dosha Café. The chef arrives at approximately 7:30 AM using authorized access to the entrance gates and villa to prepare breakfast, which is served between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM. After breakfast, the kitchen is cleaned and left for your exclusive use. Please don't be alarmed if you see the chef in the main villa during these hours—they are there as part of the breakfast service included with your stay. As the kitchen and main living areas are separate from all sleeping areas, breakfast preparation is unlikely to disturb guests who wish to enjoy a slower morning.
