Description

If you're looking for a unbelievably gorgeous 360 view, 2 porches and a wood stove, in a cozy artistic setting, this artists' retreat is for YOU! The space The loft is where my husband and I live when we are not in LA. Although it is still a work in progress, it has the most incredible views of the property. While in Vermont this summer, we added a gorgeous new cabinet and pantry (which David built) The dishwasher and a washer and dryer were added in the last couple of years, as well as a beautiful 5 burner gas stove-top (in a temporary table). David returned to Vermont to lay a beautiful oak wide plank floor with his son and two buddies. The result is fantastic! The great room is open, yet cozy, with a wood stove (and plenty of dry wood). While in Vermont, I paint in the loft and take advantage of the large tables. We recently put shades on many of the windows to give guests privacy if they want. We choose to let the light in, and watch the weather (something we miss in LA.) There is a large porch off of the great room, with a grill and small table. Enjoy dinner out on the porch, listening to the peepers (or watching fireflies). We have also added a new futon couch to the great room, which opens into a queen bed. We have all the linens to accommodate guests comfortably, in a beautiful setting. There is a small bathroom, with sink and toilet, near the futon. The bedroom has a king size bed, which has views of the valley below, over the rows of poplars, stretching to the Green Mountains. David did all the woodwork, beautiful cherry floors and trim. He finished trimming in the bedroom porch last summer. It's a wonderful thing to have a screen door opening to a porch that overlooks Nature, in all directions. This is where you'll want to watch the sunset! The washer and dryer are in the large master bathroom as well as a closet, the dressers a shower and a clawfoot tub. The little free standing building on the right side of the loft, had been my studio, but is now a cottage that we also rent out. The building directly across from the loft, in the courtyard, was David's woodshop and is now used as an office, and very loose gallery space (that's where I store many of my paintings). Let me know if you're ever interested in seeing more of my work (all units are full of it....) If I'm not around, I can arrange for someone to let you in. Guest access Our Kirby Compound has three beautiful and unique rental spaces. This space is The Loft. Feel free to explore around the compound and check out the gardens. The lower apartment and cottage have their own fire pits. . If you follow the row of poplars down the hill, behind the main house, you will find the 40 acres of trails (off leash...). I'll try to get David to draw a map this year (he made the trails) so that you can see how to get to the cabin the bottom of the hill (to the left is you're looking down from house). If you find it, try target shooting with the bb gun! Another building, the cottage, was once my art studio, and is a self contained building with windows on all sides. It has a king sized bed, a kitchenette, and a full size futon couch/bed with linens. The Apartment is the first floor of our home, with it’s own private entrance, parking, firepit and incredible views. There is one bedroom with a queen size bed. There is also two living areas with a full sized futon couch/beds (linens provided) . The well equipped kitchen/living area is roomy, with a couple of couches. There are a washer and dryer in the large bathroom. This compound is set on a totally private property, with gardens, an orchard, and 40 acres of trails to explore. 2 of the units (the cottage and the apt.) are pet friendly when approved, and there is an extra cost of $30 per day per pet. Feel free to contact me with any questions. Meryl Other things to note Please note, Vermont state rooms and meals tax is collected and paid by Airbnb Registration Details MRT-10126712
