With attractions that include award-winning pizza, handmade chocolate truffles and local Rocky Mountain lamb, Telluride is worth a visit even if you're not planning to master the mountain. Hiking Hiking is, by far, the most popular activity in the summer season. It’s no surprise, as there is enough terrain in the greater Telluride region to explore a different trail every weekend. Surrounded by an abundance of scenic nature trails, expansive jeep roads, as well as plenty of less-travelled paths, you can choose from a quick afternoon jaunt to summiting a 14,000 foot peak (14er) to a multi-day cross-country excursion. Skiing The terrain at Telluride Ski Resort offers something for everyone. The San Juan Mountains are notoriously steep and jagged, but the Ski Resort maintains groomed runs and wide trails at even the highest peaks so that beginners and intermediate skiers can also enjoy the breathtaking views. This is a great mountain to learn to ski on as there are tons of wide, uncongested beginner trails. But, there is no question that Telluride boasts some of the steepest terrain in Colorado. For expert skiers looking for a thrill, the Plunge and Spiral Stairs trails offer exciting vertical drops. Chutes, glades, moguls, cliffs - Telluride has got it all. Festivals Telluride, is an idyllic setting for one of the country's most diverse and impressive festival lineups. The festival season kicks off at the end of May with the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival and from there, Telluride plays host to a different fest each weekend. From music to mushrooms, there is something that will appeal to everyone in the Telluride summer festival lineup. Some of the most popular festivals include the world-renowned Telluride Bluegrass Festival, Jazz Festival, Wine Festival, Yoga Festival, Telluride Blues & Brews, and the Oscar predicting Telluride Film Festival. In Telluride and Mountain Village you would never need a car. Everything here is reachable by foot and our free gondola will get you from Telluride to Mountain Village in 13 minutes check-in 4pm check-out 11am
