Bamboo Cottage: a Tiny Piece of Heaven

Time to relax from all the stress.... literally a breath of fresh air: an independent detached guesthouse with everything you need for a healthy retreat. It has a private outdoor space which makes it even more perfect! Private bathroom with shower (sorry, no bathtub) Super clean and very quiet. The space Our lovely independent cottage has a private entrance and its own garden lawn and patio. Inside there is a spacious kitchen area with a single burner electric stove, electric kettle, microwave, toaster oven… everything you need for basic cooking. Lovely sitting area (those chairs are so comfortable!), bright dining area where you can also do craft projects, play cards, have tea... We named it Bamboo Cottage believing that once you name things, they become more alive and vibrant… There’s Heavenly Bamboo planted outside and the Asian theme for the décor is intended to create a spiritual atmosphere, inviting relaxation and mindfulness. The outdoor area has a bistro table for dining or working, comfortable bamboo chairs for reading or having a conversation over a glass of wine and a freestanding 2-person hammock for forgetting about everything… All the essentials are provided and if you need anything, just let us know and we will do our best to bring it to you. Special treats? We have a long list for you to choose from: award winning wines, locally made organic bread, French pastries (Thursday through Sunday), professional massages, yoga classes… we’re happy to act the role of friendly, informed concierge and book/arrange whatever experience you would like. A local chef will deliver meals (yummy!) if you want, just ask for email menu. The area is chock-full of resources: from wineries making great wines, beekeepers producing fragrant honey, olive oil mills, lakes to swim in, trails to hike… Nevada City, a charming gold-mining town, is just 45 minutes away and if you go the ‘back road’, you’ll see amazing scenery, driving by the Bullards Bar Reservoir and meeting the famous Route 49. For a real outing, you can explore Downieville (dive into the Gold Rush history) and the lovely lakes (Sardine Lake, Salmon Lake, Gold lake) where you can swim or hike forever… Guest access The Bamboo Cottage is just steps from our house: if you need anything, just call or text and if we are at home we can help you immediately. At the same time, you can enjoy your privacy without even knowing that we are at home. Plenty of parking space next to the cottage: your entrance is totally private, your own outdoor space is fenced and visually inaccessible. Other things to note Please make sure you are clear on our location (Oregon House, CA): you may want to look it up on online maps and see if it fits your travel plans. We are in a rural area surrounded by beautiful nature, but not so much in terms of other resources (restaurants, shops, etc.) NO 3rd PARTY RESERVATIONS! Throughout the area, cellphone reception is only with AT&T and Verizon. No Sprint, T-Mobile or other minor carriers. At our home it varies...depending on the weather and other factors not under our control, and as you drive around the area, the signal strength goes up and down and sometimes disappears completely. PETS: please only ONE pet and no aggressive dogs (we have 2 cats) For longer stays we offer a weekly cleaning service for $15. Fresh linens (bedding and towels) is an extra $10.
