The Bougainvillea, a quiet retreat, is SELF CHECK-IN, located 200 feet back from Presidio Road, accessed by a private, gated entrance into a walled compound. Its private, open porch-and-patio, shaded by a lysiloma tree and highlighted by the bougainvilleas is truly a place to rest from the world. The space The Bougainvillea shares an entrance gate, garden and parking space with The Jacaranda and The Barn. The land they share is the remaining homestead of the original farm known as The Dowd Place that was transferred in a land grant in the early 19th century. It is very peaceful and quiet space that feels like one is in the countryside while smack in the middle of Tucson. One can clearly see the Catalinas (mountains) to the north. the property itself is just two blocks south of the county line. The hosts live on the northern section of the privacy wall, and The Hummingbird is located in the northeast section. P.S. We cannot accomodate any Uhauls , trailers, or any larger-than-normal vans. Guest access Bus access is 2 blocks away on Alvernon Way. The Tucson bike path is within a block. General access to various different sections of Tucson is readily accessible. We love the location. The immediate areas are not jammed with traffic and still has a small town feeling as if Tucson were still "just a university and cow town." Other things to note It is important to adhere to assigned parking in order to maintain a seamless experience.
