Studio Apartment in the Woods The space Studio Apartment in the Woods Guest access The apartment has a private entrance at the back of the house on the ground floor, with a patio that overlooks the forest and river. It has a cozy queen bed, sitting area with a TV, kitchenette, and bathroom. We live directly above, so just as in most ground-level apartments, you may hear us and our pup moving around during the day. There is room for one car in the driveway. Additional vehicles may park on the road. We have a short path that leads down to and along the river and we encourage you to explore. We use it daily, seeing wildlife regularly-- it’s perfect for a quick retreat from daily chaos. Other things to note *No smoking (marijuana, cigarettes, e-cigs, or vapes) inside or near the house as we often leave our windows open. Any smoking indoors will result in an extra $200 cleaning fee. And yes, we'll know--the smoke wafts directly into our house above. *Please refrain from using heavily scented products. We use plant-based detergents, so synthetic scents are hard to remove. *We have a large, young, friendly dog who we let off-leash in the woods (supervised) a couple times a day to get her energy out. She's typically more interested in squirrels than people, and she will likely bark if she sees you, but she's harmless and one of us will always be nearby. *We also foster and pet-sit occasionally, so don't be surprised if you see more dogs during your stay. *Please be courteous with AC use and keep it at a reasonable level. The temperature in the apartment affects the main house, so if you are someone who gets cold easily, we kindly ask that you use the extra blankets and space heater provided rather than turning the central heat way up in the cooler months. *We are night-owls, and live right above the space. While we are not overly noisy, you may hear us moving around until at least midnight. *The apartment has its own patio and outdoor space that we will not use during your stay. The gated patio nearby is for our and our pets' uses and is not accessible to our guests. *If using the trail, please keep your pets under control and respect wild animals, their habitats, and the adjacent properties by staying on the property trail. There are some steep spots on the way down, so we don’t recommend it for anyone with mobility limitations. We also share the trail with our immediate neighbors, so you may occasionally see them using it. PLEASE DO NOT use the next-door neighbor's trail on the right-hand side of the property. "Private Property" signs are placed at the edge of her property, so there is clarity where the two properties meet. *The porch light comes on automatically at night and is motion-activated. *We do not accept third-party bookings. Reservations must be for the person(s) making the inquiry. GUESTS WITH PETS: *We happily welcome well-behaved dogs and their responsible parents! Pups must be non-destructive, well-behaved and up-to-date on their shots. *We appreciate you bringing an extra sheet or blanket to cover and minimize fur on the bed and loveseats, as well as bathing/ brushing your pups before your stay. This helps keep our cleaning and pet fees low! We have provided a basket of furniture covers and a few items to help make your pup feel welcome. *Please do not leave your pet unattended all day without adequate outdoor breaks. Not only is this unfair and stressful to your pup, but we can also hear their barking in our home upstairs. If you know you will have a long day and would like some help with letting your dog out throughout the day, please let us know and we'll be happy to assist if we are available. There is also a doggy day-care close by. *Please do not let your pet roam unsupervised around the property. *Guests are responsible for any damage caused by their pets. *Unfortunately, due to allergies, we cannot accommodate cats.
