Welcome! This comfortable, unpretentious home built in 1908 is the perfect perch from which to explore the eccentric history of Richmond. Situated in an historic neighborhood within walking distance of numerous restaurants, breweries, bakeries, museums, Virginia Commonwealth University and public transit. STR Permit: STR-144823-2025 The space This guest bedroom faces the street and has lots of natural light. Wooden blinds and curtains allow for light and sound modulation, making for a restful night's sleep. The full-sized bed and bedside tables are Charles Webb mid-century modern pieces. A wardrobe with drawers is available for your use, as well as some closet hanging space. The room sleeps up to two. A bath with a shower is right next door. The house has central air conditioning and radiator heat. There is a ceiling fan in the room. An adjacent bedroom is reserved for family guests. On rare occasions, it is possible that you may share the bathroom with another guest, but for the most part our Airbnb guests have this bathroom to themselves. Guest access You will have access to this private bedroom and the adjacent bath. You are also welcome to spend time in our front parlor, with access to the kitchen as needed and negotiated. We'll be happy to provide fridge space for leftovers, medications etc., however meal preparation is not part of our package unless we discuss this in advance. You are welcome to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea on our back porch or in the front parlor. Whenever possible, we like to greet guests personally upon arrival and orient you to the space. When we're not here, we'll send instructions via the app. We want our guests to feel welcome - if you've got any questions or concerns, just reach out via the app! During your stay Both of us work from home, so are often available to answer questions or provide guidance about local restaurants and attractions. Other things to note This is the perfect spot for solo travelers or couples who are visiting Richmond for work, play, or study. There is no TV or cable. We ask that folks staying with us respect our quiet hours from 10 pm - 7 am, i.e. enter and leave quietly. We are happy to provide morning coffee or tea for those that wish - Just let us know via Airbnb message by 8 am. Fridge space is available for leftovers, medications etc. Please, no food in the sleeping quarters. If you need to grab a quick takeout meal, you are welcome to eat in our dining room Street parking only. A parking spot can usually be found within a block of our location. We have a beagle mix perpetual puppy, Ruby, who will likely greet you with enthusiasm at your first arrival, but quickly settles. We generally keep her in the back of the house with us.
