Traverse Cabin is a purpose built holiday home in National Park Village. With super comfortable beds in all three double bedrooms (including 2x double beds with single bunk above), full insulation, double glazing and heat pump, the cabin is a very warm, dry and inviting home away from home after a great day skiing, tramping, cycling, fishing or whatever adventure you are returning from. Being only 20 minutes from either one of the three highlights of the region: Whakapapa ski field; the world famous Tongariro Alpine Crossing; and one of New Zealand's top mountain bike tracks the 42nd Traverse, you will be able to return home, relax and still have time to sit back and enjoy views of Mt Ruapehu from the lounge and deck. Should you require a shuttle service to your days activity, you will find the cabin is just a five minute walk to either the summer transfers to the Tongariro Crossing, and to the winter shuttles to the top of the ski field road. Please note: there is a selection of board games, books and cards for our guests to enjoy. Also if a game is on, the local pub is a fun venue to watch the action and then stagger home! (it's only a 3 minute walk or 5 minute stagger). Linen: We supply pillows and covered duvets.
