Heralding the entrance to Sudeley Castle and its magnificent gardens, Castle Gatehouse is a truly unique place. Divided over two wings, this retreat offers guests the opportunity to spend time somewhere rather special. With the main entrance to Sudeley and the medieval town of Winchcombe both just a short stroll away, this is the perfect base for exploring the greatest gems of The Cotswolds. The space Staying at the Castle Gatehouse is akin to booking your very own miniature castle at Sudeley. This 2-bed house marks the entrance to the castle grounds and has been thoughtfully renovated to accommodate up to four guests. With your own patio, complete with an outdoor dining table, you can enjoy views over the surrounding countryside and soak up the atmosphere of the Cotswolds way of life. The accommodation is arranged with bedroom one and its two-poster bed and en-suite shower room, occupying one wing of the Gatehouse. Across the courtyard, another door leads into a well-equipped kitchen and stairs leading up to a beautifully furnished, cosy living area. The second bedroom is on the first floor of this wing along with an ensuite shower room. Settle down for the day in the elegant living room and spend time with your loved ones. Outside, guests can admire the rural views that line the driveway to the castle from two individually gated gardens– a mirror image of each other – neatly connected by a shared terrace in the middle with an outdoor dining table and chairs. There is private driveway with parking for two cars and two dogs are welcome. Ground Floor Please note, as per the floor plan, the bedrooms have separate entrances across a courtyard and are not joined. Bedroom One & En-Suite Shower Room: The left wing of Castle Gatehouse is home to bedroom one, a delightful two-poster bedroom with a decorative fireplace, wardrobe and shelves, bedside tables and its own private en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower, WC and washbasin. Through the opposite door lies the second wing of the gatehouse. Kitchen: A thoughtfully laid-out and well-equipped kitchen, featuring a dining table and chairs for 4 people, a toaster, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, oven and 4 ring electric hobs, microwave and dishwasher. Utility: The practical utility area off the kitchen under the stairs is where you’ll find a large free-standing fridge/freezer, high chair and stairgate, a floor mop, cushions for the outdoor chairs and even a spare dog bowl and blanket should you need it. Note: the washing machine and tumble dryer are upstairs in the en-suite bathroom. First Floor W.C: Separate WC and washbasin. Living Room: A beautifully furnished, cosy living room, decorated in rich tones of red, navy blue, black and gold. Relax in front of the Smart TV, surrounded by interesting antique features, such as the beautiful feature tapestry that adorns the wall. Bedroom Two: A bright room in the arch of the gatehouse, featuring painted beams, a comfortable king-size bed, a full-length mirror, storage ottomans and bedside tables. En-Suite Shower Room: En-suite with wooden floors, large walk-in power shower WC, washbasin, heated towel rail, wardrobe with storage cupboard above. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in a concealed cupboard. Outside The gatehouse benefits from two small, symmetrical, gardens with a wooden table and chairs for four guests, with retractable parasol, in the courtyard patio area that separates the gardens. An outdoor tap is handy for rinsing off muddy dogs and boots after a long country walk. There is parking for two cars on the private driveway. Guest access Guest have access to the entire property. Free entry to Sudeley Castle & Gardens during the open season excluding private or ticketed events. Please check the Sudeley Castle website for up to date open season information and dates. Other things to note • 2 well-behaved dog/s are welcome for an additional fee of £45 per dog. This fee is not included in the rental price. Please advise us at the time of booking if you are bringing a dog/s and you will be sent a request for the additional fee. This fee will be automatically included on new bookings placed from 30/09/26 onwards. • Book with us to get exclusive discounts to top attractions and experiences. • Sudeley Castle and Gardens: A booking made for this property entitles you to free admission to Sudeley Castle and Gardens, as many times as you wish during your stay. This includes general admission, during the open season, but does not include entry to special events. To check if the Castle and Gardens are open for your dates, or to book a ticket for a special event, please refer to the Sudeley Castle website. • Between November and December the Spectacle of Lights event is held at Sudeley Castle. As part of this event Castle Gatehouse is brightly lit. The lights will be switched off at 10pm each night. • Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, an additional fee per dog applies. • The Castle Gatehouse has a number of stairs throughout the property and is not suitable for people with reduced mobility. • Castle visitors cannot drive or walk through the Gatehouse, but cars and people will be walking nearby from 10am to 5.30pm on their way to visit Sudeley Castle & Gardens; the volume of which depends on the time of year you visit. Before and after these hours it is quiet and peaceful. • Castle Gatehouse accepts a maximum of 2 infants due to limited space.
