Art Filled Historic Craftsman • Inner Eastside
Description
An artist’s home filled with pieces I’ve created and collected, each chosen with intention. Two serene bedrooms with soft cotton bedding and 1.5 baths offer quiet comfort, while the house itself holds a calm, creative magic. In the heart of Portland yet peaceful and sheltering, it’s a short walk to the Convention Center, Lloyd Center, and the future Lloyd Center Music Venue. Come stay where beauty, artistry, and ease naturally meet. 420 OK in designated outdoor area — please be respectful The space Step into an authentic 1908 Portland Craftsman—an elegant, light-filled sanctuary curated with intention, artistry, and quiet luxury. The entire first floor is yours: two serene queen bedrooms, 1.5 baths with shower/tub, and a well-appointed green kitchen outfitted with All-Clad and cast iron cookware. Throughout the home, you’ll find a distinguished collection of furnishings and art. Classic Stickley pieces, an Art Deco queen bed, a sculptural Paul Schatz sofa, and original artwork I’ve created and collected over decades lend each room a sense of soul, refinement, and timeless warmth. This is a space where design, comfort, and craftsmanship meet. Both bedrooms feature queen beds dressed in soft cotton sheets and duvet covers—never polyester. The primary bedroom includes the Art Deco bed and a fold-out sofa for additional guests. Closets, hangers, drawers, side tables, and full-length mirrors provide ease and thoughtful convenience. The home remains beautifully temperate year-round. Energy-efficient MIDEA AC units, Eco-Trust insulation, ceiling fans, and HEPA/UV air purifiers ensure comfort during Portland’s summer heat domes and a cozy warmth in winter. The kitchen includes a Multipure carbon water filtration system that purifies both drinking water and ice. Generous windows invite luminous natural light into every corner. High-speed WiFi supports remote work, streaming, or restorative downtime. Pets are welcome with clear, respectful boundaries: up to two well-behaved, groomed companions; no pets on furniture or bedding; cats must remain in the bedroom; and no animals left unsupervised. The pet fee reflects additional sanitation needs; if cleaning remains under three hours, I reduce it to $75. Service animals are always welcome—please let me know ahead of time so I can prepare the home (including rolling up handmade carpets). This is a 420-friendly household; please enjoy on the side porch or in the backyard only—never indoors. Recycling and composting guidelines from the City of Portland are posted on the refrigerator. I live in a separate private space on the property with Miss Amelia, my gentle, senior feline who occasionally enjoys greeting guests (only if you welcome it). Guest access You’ll have full access to the kitchen, complete with a gas stove, filtered drinking water, and purified ice. The dining room, living room, back-porch seating area, and the peaceful backyard are all yours to enjoy. The home is spacious, quiet, and designed for comfort, ease, and creativity. High-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout. Wonderful cafés, breakfast spots, and restaurants are just two blocks away. ⸻ Parking & Check-In Detailed check-in instructions will be sent the day before your arrival. Street parking is available, and you’re welcome to park directly in front of the driveway — originally designed for a horse and carriage when the home was built, and still perfectly suited for modern cars. If you have any questions about arrival or parking, I’m here to help. Other things to note This neighborhood is one of Portland’s quiet treasures—walkable, welcoming, and full of small delights. Enjoy coffee in the backyard garden, wander to a nearby café, or simply settle into the gentle rhythm of the house. It’s a place where relaxation comes naturally. Public transportation is excellent here. If you prefer not to drive, this is the perfect place to stay. The MAX light rail, streetcar, and bus lines are all a short walk away, making it effortless to explore Portland without a car. I also share the property with Amelia, my gentle and slightly opinionated 14-year-old cat. She enjoys greeting guests and supervising their activities from a respectful distance. If you’d like a feline visitor, I’m happy to leave her door open so she can wander in. If you prefer a pet-free experience, just let me know—she’ll understand (mostly).
