Pedregalejo, the trendy beach with lots of bars and restaurants, is 3 km away. If you want to enjoy the beach in a more secluded location, you can reach Benajarafe in about 7 km – without skyscrapers and with few people. Culture, the harbor and a stroll through the city in Málaga are 6 km away. The house is located on the beautiful local mountain of Málaga, the Monte de San Antón, at an altitude of about 220 m in a fantastic setting in the middle of a pine forest with the ever-fresh scent of pine trees. Guests will find plenty of peace and quiet here for dining, reading, relaxing, sunbathing, or a Spanish siesta. The Monte de San Antón, formerly a pilgrimage mountain and now by far Malaga's best residential area, is ideal for a nice hike to the summit (400 m) with fantastic views of the Bay of Malaga. Our place is located about 3 km from the beach of Pedregalejo; from here, the beach, shopping, the old town and cultural attractions are easily and quickly accessible by bus or car. The trendy beach of Pedregalejo invites you to swim, play sports or drink coffee and offers a lively nightlife in the summer. El Palo Market offers the freshest fish as well as fruits and vegetables. Guests can get onto the highway (1.3 km) without traffic lights or traffic jams, and a parking space is right outside the door. A minibus takes guests directly from the house down to the sea, but there is no service on weekends. From here, excursions to Granada (1 h), Ronda (1 h to 1.5 h), Seville, Córdoba and Cádiz (2.5 h each) are quite possible, as well as to Marbella in about 40 minutes (60 km), if traffic permits. The historic old town of Málaga, the harbor and cultural highlights such as the Picasso Museum or the Thyssen Museum are also very nice. In addition, the location is ideal for exploring the hinterland, for example, El Chorro (65 km) with its reservoir, canyons, and beautiful hiking trails; the Valle del Genal near Estepona (80 km) with villages such as Jubrique or Genalguacil; and the Pueblos Blancos such as Grazalema or Zahara de la Sierra. The Sierra Nevada, with almost 120 km of groomed ski slopes and almost 20 lifts, can also be reached by rental car; guests can reach the ski lift in about 90 minutes. The season starts at the beginning of December and runs until the end of April.
