If being across the road from the most photographed portion of Kuaotunu Beach wasn't enough, the famous Luke's Kitchen is a short stroll along the beach to the right and the boat ramp just 300m to the left. A playground and tennis court are less than a 5-minute walk along the road towards Kuaotunu Settlement, a busy little tourist spot during the summer months, which has a lovely indoor/outdoor cafe, a grocery store and is home to Kuaotunu Killer Icecreams. The reserve across the road from the settlement is a great spot for families to play and picnic. For day trips, you'll be just 20-minutes drive from Whitianga township and within an hour’s drive, you’ll be able to get to places like Hahei, Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove. Travelling in the opposite direction, find the quaint little town of Coromandel, with Matarangi and Whangapoua nearby and don’t forget to check out the magical and secluded New Chums beach!
