The Nature Refuge
From the organic mattress to the garden space outside your door, I hope to offer you a space you will feel comfortable that adds to your stay in Port Townsend. The queen size bed makes this perfect for two, but there is also a foldaway/daybed for a third person. Dogs: Please see click "Show more" then "Other Things to Note". This private setting is walking distance to Fort Worden and North Beach, and just a little further walk or drive to Uptown and Downtown. City business license #012047. My place is in a sunny part of town and I am continually enhancing my natural gardens to attract birds and other wildlife. As a naturalist my space is nature-centric and eco-friendly. Most of my materials and cleaning supplies are organic or natural, and I strive to keep it a fragrance-free space. There is wifi, but the space is TV-free. Please remove your shoes indoors to help keep it clean. The kitchenette is stocked with fridge, microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, coffee maker, pan and pot, coffee, tea and accouterments. The east side of the house is all yours. Your parking space is off-street at that side of the house, opposite the side with the garage. A short pebble trail leads you to your own entrance. You are welcome to enjoy the back gardens as well as your own garden space outside your door. I appreciate if you remove your shoes at the door. This will keep the space pebble and dirt free during your stay. Please text me your approximate arrival time if it will be late and, if possible I will meet you to help you settle in. You have a private entry and are welcome to your solitude, however I am available to answer any questions and help with suggestions. I have a garden in the backyard that I am currently rebuilding and you are welcome to enjoy it as it blooms and grows, but it is under a bit of construction so it is not necessarily where you would want to hang out yet. My house is in a quiet neighborhood, high on a hill that slopes down to Fort Worden State Park, with trails, beaches, bunkers and views of Puget Sound and the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Fort Worden hosts festivals, events, and concerts year-round, as well as yoga, the Marine Science Center, the PT School of Arts, restaurants, and more. You can walk to the beach and Fort Worden in 10-15 minutes, and to uptown and downtown in around 30 minutes. Bikes are also a fantastic way to get around if you want to split the difference between walking and driving. I am open to well behaved dogs joining you in my place. If you and they respect the space, then you are welcome to include this family member too. I do require adding them in the pet option. Talk to me if you have more than one dog. I cannot allow dogs to be left behind in the space without you, unless you crate it. If you need a crate, I have one you can borrow. I love dogs and understand it's important to travel with them, but if your dog damages the space you will be responsible for the expense. No smoking inside or in the yard. Please keep the gate to the backyard closed to keep the hungry deer out! Thanks.
